"Yesterday, (1/15/23), my mother's facility in Bayville called me, They told me my mom was unresponsive, so they called for an ambulance. Prior to the ambulance arriving, they got her breathing again, thankfully. She was taken to Community Medical Center. I called the ER 3 times and finally got someone on the phone. She said she was a doctor, but couldn't tell me anything regarding what happened. She said a doctor would call me. No one called. I call this morning, a nurse responded and told me that my mom was released! I said I'd like to speak with a doctor to find out what happened. She said, "Her facility has all the paperwork and stuff, call them." I said, "And stuff?" Then I said, "Just know, you're surly and have been of no help to a concerned family member," and I hung up. Wow. I live in Los Angeles. I had to deal with hospitals and facilities when my dad was dying of long Covid. I have NEVER spoken to anyone at any hospital in LA who responded like that nurse. I have never had a situation where a doctor did not call and give me a thorough briefing. WHAT is wrong with your staff I wish I could give you NO stars."
"I came in today for complete joint replacement for my hip. I was a little uneasy at first but from start to finish I was very impressed with the check-in at the same day surgery unit to being prepped for my surgery to meeting my anesthesiologist and discussing the best way to proceed because I do have underlying issues with my health. I can't say enough and all of the nurses that I have dealt with for my care have been fabulous. The orthopedic recovery unit staff was exceptionally attentive and it was from the heart. There was no phony or fakeness there. Everyone made me feel so at ease. They listened to my concerns and they did their best to make me comfortable and I did remain comfortable for my stay for this. I thank everyone! I am well on my journey to recover and I am happy to say all of my worries and concerns were put to the side. Thank you very much to the staff and my doctor. Dr. Larson You rock. I already feel better and Iris Thank you for getting me through this and making sure everything was in place so I could be here. Thank you thank you thank you once again"
"Had horrible experiences in the past at this hospital myself...but tonight..we had a very caring nurse named Alicia. She was in the emergency dept. My husband got into a car accident and she was working "the wall" they called it. She really was so sweet and kind. And that girl was a hustler. Caring for well over 15 patients by herself. Never missing a beat. This girl deserves a raise! Than you for helping with Sean!"
"It would be great if I could leave 0 stars. The doctor treating my father was vindictive and the nurse Teresa working on the 4th floor spent more time on Facebook than caring for her patients. Disgustied with this hospital The nurse literally put this stuff on the floor and then placed it on his bed. I have no words, and an absolutely appalled by what I witnessed."
"I will say, since the takeover, they are better than they were! By a lot! I have still had some aggravation here, as I am here right now! But there are some good staff members. There is an ER nurse Cherie (Sherry?) who is really awesome. Just her attitude, bedside manner and willingness to be helpful and attentive is a dying art. I can hear her in the hall communicating with staff and patients and her communication style is easy, kind and I am grateful she is here today. ❤️ The intake staff was good and seemed tuned-in. The docs are docs - serious, dry and professional. Thank to all but one, and I am not sure that bad communication was even his fault. That may have been all me. Sorry."
