"Tenant of Aquablu: really unreasonable management, even after sufficient reasoning about a late fee dispute; I paid 8th of the month, payment only went through for them on the 11th. They deemed as this late because it’s after their 10 day grace period. Super unreasonable as it was the first time I was hearing about this, even on the lease it says 10 days, not 10 days even if the 10th lands on a business day. Other tenants have said they give courtesy but apparently management just picks and chooses their favourites when it comes to these. And this is after I tipped my building staff for the holiday season. Even worse, I now see my neighbouring unit with same ft and space, being placed on market for 1k less than my current rent, I am on a 3 year renewal lease. This is so disappointing to see, I send them an email to discuss and they just say rent can’t be negotiated while in effect. It’s just kind of disgusting how capitalistic and cold management is at this company. I’ve definitely dealt with nicer management within jersey city. Safe to say, if you’re considering, there are better choices."
"I have been living with Newport management for almost 4 years now. I had bad experiences before with some agents. But, Eunice Paik is the best leasing agent one can get. She is very active in responding to your queries and a very helpful person to guide you through the leasing process and even if you encounter any management related questions throughout your stay."
"Leasing office was helpful, specially Jeremiah. She helped me in my apartment hunt immensely. Experience at the apartment building wasn’t so good. Front desk experience was varying based on whom you are interacting with. Some were helpful while some were outright rude. My major problem was with after math of deposit after your lease is over…. Don’t expect them to return you even half of your deposit. They will charge you for absurd things. Also the property management office is never approachable, never respond to calls. Also if you can’t visit them during 9-5 on weekdays you can’t get hold of them."
"Unbelievable how rude the desk people are - absolutely unprofessional and rude - they should all be fired. Newport always plays a game when trying to get a refund check back - took us three months. Amazing area, no amenities - rent is astronomically high. You are only paying for location - that is it. Management staff is terrible. The doorman - OMG. It is like talking to doorKNOBS. The guy Manual at WSS my god is he lazy. And the other other - Ronnie a real bit of an odd ball - always felt uneasy interacting with him. What is your screening process?"
"Note - Rating 5 stars only cos of Eunice. Otherwise I will rate it -3 if I could.Writing this for future potential tenants. CONS- I have been dealing with Newport leasing office for about 4.5 years. Unfortunately most of it was unpleasant but I had to stay in the area, so had no choice as they have a monopoly here. They literally legally SUED me for no fault so if you want to live here in peace, don’t expect it. PRO- My most recent experience was surprisingly pleasant. Eunice was helpful in the leasing process when I was deciding plans on whether to renew. She was very attentive, responsive, empathetic and all around a shining light during a stressful time for me. When dealing with Newport on a new lease or renewal, I’d wholeheartedly recommend working with Eunice as she’s someone that will really work with you and make the process as smooth as possible."
