"I love that you can make your appointments through text message and get a quick response. Lucy was very nice and explained everything she was doing. Although I was hesitant to buy the IPL package because of a previous review stating it doesn't work on tanned skinned. I am glad I did, because I can see my pigments being targeted already! It is pretty painful, but the pain is worth it to get rid of the repercussions of my bad decision as a young adult."

"I have been going to Lucy at Serena Spa for over SIX years for microdermabrasion and IPLs. I used to have dark melasma (skin pigmentation) from the sun, but now I am totally clear. She is devoted to helping to solve your skincare problems, and honest about what works and what doesn't. (She also gives a lovely facial massage before some treatments!) You must know she is a one-woman show in a small but beautifully clean and pretty office. She is a skincare genius. Little places like this are what make New York city so amazing -- you can get world class skincare in a little office in Koreatown without the massive price tag. Finally, do ask her about her other treatments while you are in the office! She has a range of services I didn't know about the first few times I visited. The last time I visited her, Lucy referred me to a Japanese skincare store across the street and even gave me some phenomenal eye masks. She really cares about skincare. For those who like silence during treatment: She will either be very quiet and get on with it, or, if you engage her, talk to you about all sorts of skincare concerns."

"i got a groupon deal and made an appointment. She confirmed what i needed and what it was for. I took off of work to make the appointment. When i went in she got off of the phone and greeted me then said i need your voucher because i have no idea who you are. I said ok, even though i sent it to her when i made the appointment. as i was pulling it out again to show her she said again " need it it, i dont know who you are" . Once i showed it to her, i was still standing in the doorway by the way. She proceeded to tell me that i cant have the treatment because i was too black, too brown , too dark for it. she proceeded to ask me if i googled it to see if it was right for me. I told her i only looked up the spa information to see your data and no where listed were restrictions. So she went on and on on how she cant service me and its on google. She tried to show me random google articles and even started to text them to me while i was there. I did not understand why i this information was not provided to clients at purchase and why it wasn't on her site. she went on about google information and that groupon does not allow for her to list restrictions. So i asked her again if this service she provides is only for white people and she said YES. She said i should've sent her a photo of myself. now why in the world would i do that????? I wasted my time going there she was unprofessional, rude and not accommodating at all. As i was walking out she then at that point tries to offer me another service, i mean really lady. She could have offered me professional advise instead of going off about how dark my skin was and that i need to be white for the service. I have never experienced anything like this before, it was horrible and tacky. Once i got home i noticed she was continuing to send me random google articles about photo facials. It was insane and i do not recommend this place. It is in an office building and it is obvious that it is a one woman show."
