NY Kids Club - Cobble Hill

"I will never advise anyone to enroll their children in this terrible center! I signed up my 3 year old daughter for Saturday architecture and gymnastics class and paid for 17 weeks - that's how long their semester is! it turned out for the first class $ 890 and for the second-890 plus taxes! I was promised, by their representative, that if the child got sick I could take extra classes, they assured me that I would not lose a single lesson! Then that employee disappears and directors words: “ The person you dealt with is not my coworker, he no longer works here” !!!!! I copied her answer from email! What? Can you believe it? I can show all emails! And what happened in the end? We missed 10 weeks out of 17 because my daughter got sick after every class! Trust me, I attended every class with her, and there were always sick children in the class! The teacher doesn't care! And nobody cares! They did NOT REFUND my money and did NOT GIVE me any make up classes. Oh, they offered to my daughter playtime! Did I paid money for playtime???? They were just brazenly trying to get rid of me! I ended up losing money. And now about the classes) I have not seen anything worse than that “architecture” class! It lasts 45 minutes. For these 45 minutes, the children played for 20 minutes on their own, and then just drew something and that's it! How can this be called an architectural class?! 4 teachers changed in 4 months! No system, no education, just fundraising!! Absolutely disgusting place!"

"I'm not sure if it's the new management or a lack of care. It is after multiple times that my nanny tried to come for open play, but the place was closed or the session was cancelled without prior notice. After finally booking a session, she and my baby were turned away (!) because our pack expired and they could not get in (was told she could only get in if we bought another pack). Sorry, but I don't appreciate a place that mistreats caregivers and children. This is a place that only cares about the dime. It's great to have other kinder options in the neighborhood."

"I was pleasantly surprised by our experience with the 2’s program at Kids Club. It’s clean. They have lots of tactile materials for the students. They are excellent with communication. The instructors have boundless enthusiasm for the students. They nurtured my daughter through separation anxiety and provide a really fun home away from home."

"We love NY Kids Club Cobble Hill! My 4 year old daughter has been attending enrichment classes and events there since the location opened in Spring 2017. She has taken everything from gymnastics to history adventures to cooking and enjoyed each one. The staff is great. It is awesome how they are able to connect with kids no matter their ages or experience in a structured setting. Lina is amazing with the kids. Shannon is always so positive. Tehilla is a great new teacher addition. Natalie is so helpful at the front desk. The drop off PJ parties are the highlight of my daughter's week. And we are so happy that Danielle is back as Director. She guided me through the enrollment process in the beginning and runs the whole facility so well. With classes around $500+, it is on par with all of the other offerings in the neighborhood and far better quality all around. Drop off PJ parties are $40 for 2 hours and they give the kids pizza and a snack."

"We recently had a 5th birthday party for my son here. We have been to many NYKC parties at other locations. They are always fun and well-run, but this party really stood out. My son has sensory processing issues which can make it hard or him to focus in busy, noisy environments. I had asked him when planning the party if he thought NYKC would be too overwhelming for him, but he really wanted to have his party there. (He took a gymnastics class at the Park Slope location last year and loved it.) In the rush of planning, I didn't think to mention his disability while booking the party. I realized my oversight about 5 minutes before the party began, and told the woman running the activities, whose name was Christine. She completely took it in stride, promising me she would "just read his energy." Well, she certainly did. I have honestly never seen him more engaged in group activities. She started the party with a quiet pretend-play activity that tied into our space theme and helped him get focused, and then once they were in the gym, she kept the energy up and the kids playing happily with a succession of fun games. She was so kind, attentive, and interesting, and has a beautiful singing voice to boot. (Apparently, she's an opera singer when not doing kids' classes!) As the parent of a sensory kid who sometimes has a tough time in school, it really touched my heart to see him enjoying his party so much and completely participating with his peers. The whole event was extremely well-run, and the utmost of convenience for my husband and me. They even boxed up the leftover food and cake for us to take with us when we left! Parties here are NOT cheap, but to us, it was worth every penny."
