"We booked a very expensive trip to Africa with Deborah Gellis of Embark Beyond. At our first meeting she asked "what is your favorite animal". We told her ELEPHANTS and that we wanted to adopt an elephant from an Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary, and we built our dream trip around that visit in Kenya. After we paid for our trip in full, our elephant adoption was “cancelled” and it turns out we never actually had a scheduled visit according to the sanctuary as they stopped offering it one full year before we planned our trip , even though it was confirmed by Deborah and Embark, and paid for in our final itinerary. She was too busy with her own personal travels to ensure our hugely expensive trip was everything she promised it would be. If you are looking for a caring dedicated interested travel company/agent, look elsewhere. Additionally, we were lucky to book a reservation at the last minute with Giraffe Manor. However, the sunny 2nd floor room booked and paid for was not available on check in and they put us in a windowless dungeon like room and called that an “ upgrade”. The manager said our booking agent did this “ bait and switch” tactic to us!"
