"Excellent service. Though I had moved to Staten Island, I will continue to be back to Brooklyn to do and receive nail service at the Blue Mermaid. Sue is knowledgeable, friendly & interactive. She shows sign of care to the customers. An A+ from me. Thoughtfulness decor, very good trade uniform, & the place is clean, calming music. Overall, good managerial skills went into the place. I approve & recommend the salon."

"My mistake was that when I wrote the first review of this place, I took a picture of one hand. But now I provide a picture of both hands after a manicure. The master, without asking me what I want, began to file my nails, when I saw what he was doing, I told the master what shape I wanted. I had the same length of nails on both hands. The picture shows how the nails on the left hand were cut down and made very short, and on the right hand the nails remained my length. I told the master that I did not like it, but she ignored my remark. I paid $20 for a terrible service without waiting for the final result, now I regret that I paid for THIS at all! You, as the owner of the salon, could apologize to me for the ruined nails, ruined mood and terrible experience! But judging by your first answer, you are as unprofessional as your masters! I got this manicure today at this place. I didn't have the patience to wait for the final result. Terrible service!"

"It was my first time here. I called ahead for an appointment as they were fully booked. I got the regular mani and spa pedi (green tea detox). The technician was very efficient and gentle. The pedicure had a scrub, 10 min massage and a detox foot mask. They seat you on massage chairs so the experience is very soothing. The prices are reasonable. The salon is very neat and hygienic."
