"I attended a real estate closing in this attorney’s office. He was referred to and hired by the buyer and was unknown to her. What was to be a happy moment for both parties turned out to be very frustrating and aggravating for all. The office was in a rundown strip store and very cramped and warm. We stood in front of a cluttered desk to sign our documents while 8 people were huddled around the desk. The attorney’s attitude was very arrogant from the beginning. No introductions or hellos. His tone towards my agent was very demanding and demeaning. At one point, I stepped outside for a little fresh air with the buyer and my wife, when all of a sudden, my agent comes out crying and sobbing and unable to speak. She finally indicated that this attorney had yelled at her and caused her to be this upset. Our goal was to leave with the deal done. The buyer left upset as well, and we did not get to speak to her afterwards. I had requested a formal Attorney’s Ethics complaint form, received it, filled it out and gave a very detailed account of the visit. The ethics committee indicated that his actions were not morally or ethically wrong and they would not pursue this matter any further. Case closed. Please do not do business with this arrogant, obnoxious individual if you want a pleasant outcome. Maybe I should have gone with my initial instincts with this guy instead of counting on the bureaucracy to do the right thing."
