"The food was great, but the service was incredibly slow and inattentive… we first sat down for a good 5min until they served us water. Let’s not even mention about the wait serving the noodles.. we waited for at least 40 min… a lot of improvements need to be made"
"Ordered the: Neri Tofu, Black Truffle Curry, and Duck Shio. Overall, the tofu & duck shio was A++. First time having homemade tofu, and real wasabi, and I’m happy we ordered this. All of this with the dashi broth was great. The duck shio was my personal favorite of the soup. The pink peppercorn is a fantastic add of flavor, which gives a very light citrus-tang to the broth & some bites. Black truffle curry was underwhelming. Just tasted like a nicely spiced & flavored soba curry with some duck. Wasn’t an all star, especially with the price too. Shiso leaf sorbet at the end, was just like shaved ice. Didn’t wow me, would be delicious on a hot summer day though. I would come on a scorching day just for that in a paper cup haha I would recommend the duck shio by a long shot! One of the best soups I’ve had in my life."
"You have to eat here! A truly great dining experience and had the pleasure of sitting at the bar and having a conversation with Chef. His inner beauty and wisdom are understood more deeply after eating his food. Everything is GLUTEN FREE. Best soba I’ve ever had and made with love. Delicious deserts and my personal fave was the tofu - WOW! You feel and taste as if you were eating homegrown fresh food. Also, the space is epic Brooklyn with the coolest Japanese vibe."
"The ambiance was very comfortable and spacious, providing an elegant dining experience. The service was very attuned and quick, where they gave my wife napkins without us asking when she saw us pull out some of our own, which demonstrates amazing consideration and observational skills! The tofu appetizer was delicious, balancing perfectly between its sweetness and its cream-like texture, with a hint of nuttiness as well; highly recommend trying the appetizer! The yuzu soda had great initial yuzu flavors, but the aftertaste was very diluted and watery, which was unfortunate. Now for the main stars of the show. I ordered the black truffle yakuzen curry soba which came with a good and rich curry broth. However, the duck pieces in the dish were very shredded (as you can see in the photo) which didn't provide a good bite to it and was easily overpowered by everything else that was going on. The black truffle didn't add much to the dish and you couldn't really taste the truffle over the curry. Overall it was a decent dish but definitely not worth its high price tag. My wife got the deluxe sashimi soba and it was incredibly fresh and refreshing! Chef Shuichi definitely ensured to get the freshest of ingredients and it shows! The uni had no bitter aftertaste and the coldness of the dish added to its incredibly refreshing flavor profile! Highly recommend the deluxe over the black truffle duck soba. Overall this was a great dining experience despite the few misses. The highlight was definitely the tofu and the deluxe sashimi soba! Chef Shuichi Kotani was very friendly and provided us with some information regarding the concept of his restaurant and the utilization of buckwheat in his creations. Definitely a pleasurable experience and will be back to try their other selections. Thank you for reading and best of luck! (:"
"Had the duck soba and salmon ikura soba. Each had their own taste and profile, but were both fresh and thoughtfully selected. It's not the heaviest dishes, but that's how soba is, and it's more interesting than the standard traditional soba. Would recommend the soba ice cream over the sorbet if you have to choose between them. The tableware was exceptionally beautiful! They do take walk ins and we were easily seated on a Friday evening, so don't be afraid if the Resy looks fully booked!"
