"Great atmosphere, food and service. Best breakfast sandwich in town. Have never waited more than 7-10 minutes. Quality is outstanding and the staff is always friendly. Great coffee and espresso drinks. Burkes is such a gem for Bay Head / Point Beach - as there is no other European-style cafe or market for miles and miles."

"We called in a lunch order for three sandwiches and we were told it would be ready in a half an hour. We got to Burkes 30 minutes later and were told the order wasn't ready... Okay, that happens. 20 minutes - still waiting. Finally we finally got our food. In the meantime, folks who had came in off the street and ordered from the counter, got their food before we did. That made zero sense to us. Annoying as that was, it could have been worth the wait if the sandwiches were really good. They weren't. They were terrible. Completely bland. No flavor. And not cheap. For all that money and time, we didn't even bother finishing them. Would never go back again."

"Pros… Clean place, good food, great location. Cons… Sandwiches are $16, which I am fine paying for, but they take 25 minutes to make one sandwich. Imagine ordering 4? I don’t understand why they have high school kids who could care less making sandwiches? This place could be a gold mine if they actually hire somebody with deli experience. When you try to call ahead and place an order, they don’t answer the phone… ever. I get to the register and the drinks are a different price than what they’re labeled. Instead of hiring 20 high school kids hire 10 people with food service!"

"I was cold from surfing in late December and had a car issue. While waiting for assistance, and freezing, I came into Burke's to get warm and they immediately got me hot soup and a grilled cheese. Amazing hospitality. 5-stars."
