"After we had ordered, the server asked us if we also wanted steamed vegetables. I asked what they meant by steamed vegetables, and they described what they were offering. I said sure, why not, thinking about how my orange chicken entree might not come with many vegetables. The vegetables came, and while it was fine, I was kindof shocked when the bill came to see the steamed vegetables were the same price ($18.95) as my orange chicken entree. To be honest, this felt like a pushy up-sell, which was not what I was expecting for a standard Chinese restaurant like this one. While the environment was nice and the food was decent, I was frustrated with that element of the experience."
"My wife and I used to like going to the original cottage on Amsterdam Avenue. While we didn't go there too often, before the pandemic we had been there a couple of times a year for the past couple of decades. This was the first time we had gone back to the cottage since the pandemic, now at its new location. We ordered the shredded pork in garlic sauce and the spicy diced chicken. The spicy diced chicken was OK but the shredded pork was way too sweet. What made us give the really bad ratings though was how the waiter treated us. After making the order she asked if we wanted some vegetables for the table. She made it seem like it came with the order so we said OK. It was just bland snow pea leaf which turned out at the end was just another full priced dish. We came out feeling scammed. We won't be back which is a shame."
"New on the corner of W78st & Broadway Former location of Chinese Cuban restaurant pre-Covid days, accommodate est. 25 people comfortably seated, with white tablecloths bragging neat service. Spicy Tofu on white rice and eggdrop soup for lunch special, served hot and right, $17 including tip. Small Customer restroom.Good for groups or Solo, but not accessible for large mobility devices"
"The meals were pretty underwhelming for me and my friends . It’s also more pricey than your average Chinese restaurant. I won’t really be coming back but the food was definitely fresh . Vegetables was not on the house as well. I’ll give the shrimp dumplings a 5/5 because it was fresh ! My House special lo mein was not wow, neither was my friend’s fried curry fish. It was a 2.8/5 experience"
"One of the best Szechuan style Chinese restaurant in the entire neighborhood, the food was great and was super flavorful."
