"Avoid this place like the plague. The service here is some of the worst in NYC. I made an appointment a week in advance and called the day of to let them know that I was running late and asked if they could still take my friend and I for the services we booked. The woman on the phone said yes. We get there and everyone in the salon has the most awful attitudes. The woman at the front desk chastises us for being late.. again I called beforehand to make sure this was okay and was told yes. She then tells my friend that she can’t give her a mani & pedi, she has to choose one.. first red flag. We obliged and both decide to only do pedicures. Then we’re picking colors and they tell us we can’t do gel because that apparently takes longer (which I’ve never heard in my life). Second red flag. Also the woman at the front desk and the manicurist started speaking poorly about us and complaining in Spanish that we came in late and won’t be receiving full services.. but the gag is I speak Spanish and responded in Spanish. She was shooketh, rightfully so. Anyways still we obliged for a second time and picked regular non-gel polish. We get to the pedicure chairs and an older woman starts removing my polish without asking what type of pedicure I want.. when I asked what kind of pedicures they have she threw her hands up in the air like she was frustrated… because I asked what services they offered.. Once she finally hands me a paper menu, I select the Spa Pedicure (as opposed to basic) and she gets up, walks over to the front desk, comes back with the manager and in a very confrontational, loud, and aggressive manner tells me that because I was late I could only get a basic pedicure, no foot massage, no callus removal. At this point, the women who work at Ballet Slippers had made my friend and I extremely uncomfortable so we paid for the nail polish removal and left. We walked half a block away to Nail One and had some of the best pedicures and service we had in a while. Don’t waste your time on this unprofessional nail salon. There are much better options in the immediate vicinity."

"Every time I come here I always have an amazing experience. Carmen does my UV gel fills and does a great job. This time we added chrome on top and it’s my favorite one to date! The staff is always so friends and accommodating. I can’t recommend this place enough- I live on the upper east side and I come all the way down here just for them!!"

"Favorite salon in nyc. I’ve lived in Manhattan for almost 2 years and everyone who works here is lovely. Super kind, efficient, accommodating, and my UV gel manicure has been on for over 3 weeks and I’m just now scheduling an appointment for a fill! 10/10 would recommend :) (NOTE: first photo shows rlly rough skin around nails but that was DONE BY ME before getting the manicure. Carmen was so careful and basically worked magic to do this manicure on such beat up nails/cuticles. Second photo is 3 weeks later!!)"
