"I am a regular at a6 Tribeca and wanted to give this salon a chance too. The overall quality of the work is good as my gel stayed on around 4 weeks. But in terms of experience I did not feel welcomed by the salon, it felt quite rushed and rude a bit"
"Worst nail experience. After just getting engaged, I went to get my nails done. It took 1.5 hours for a gel manicure and the woman ruined my nails. The gel was sloppy and it all chipped within 24 hours. They still made me pay even though the receptionist saw how bad it was. They offered to redo it but I had my engagement party that night and had to time. At the party, I was embarrassed to show people my hands. It is way too expensive and in too nice of an area to get away with zero quality."
"Not my normal spot, came here with a friend post brunch. Service was fine, nails were fine day of but peeled and chipped practically the next day which I’m not used to with Gel. They offer nail art as an add on service and since it was a special occasion I went for it. Not worth the price, tech was confused like they had never been asked this request before."
"Got a gel mani + regular pedi with my mom. Cute little place, great service. Wish they did nail tips though - we didn’t realize til we got there. Would go again!"
"WORST nail experience I’ve ever had. I got a gel mani & pedi done last week and within days the nails started turning BROWN. I wish I had taken photos of that. Went to get them fixed and they RUSHED through the process. They “fixed” 7 of nails in the time they fixed my friends ONE chipped fingernail (yes they chipped too). The nails are all different colors (not planned), you can SEE MY FINGERNAILS underneath the one coat that she did. My thumb nail is half shaved off. I asked her to add more coats so she fixed ONE finger then literally screamed “finished” at me until I stood up. Even though my friend (again, with one fingernail getting fixed) was still not done next to me. Some other things; - They told me makeup remover is what turns them brown. I’ve been using makeup wipes... even so, They never warned me about any of this prior and I don’t know many people in NYC who don’t wear makeup, so maybe they should warn people. - The woman fixing my nails was again yelling at me to put my hands under the light even though she hadn’t turned the light on (but probably didn’t notice, because she wasn’t paying any attention to what she was doing). - When I picked the color (from the first time) to get my nails fixed, she said, no that can’t be it because of how much the nails had changed in that time. - Most of the rest of the staff was friendly and polite the first time that I got them done. Honestly I wish I had left them brown instead of getting them fixed so I wouldn’t have had this even worse experience. The way the woman treated me when getting them fixed was the worst part. Absolutely in shock from the disrespectful way I was treated while I was politely trying to get fixed what should not have been an issue in the first place. I really wanted to love this place."
