"SUCH A SCAM. Money hungry. I got a UV gel FILL— on the website it said $90– when I checked out it was $151, when I left I could not wrap my brain around how that price was legit so I called and they said they charge $90 for the fill and $30 for COLOR? Like what? Do they expect people to just get a gel fill with no color? I will be going back to my old salon (Golden House) even though it’s a little further away. Scam scam scam"
"Bare Luxury is the only nail spa in Manhattan I have discovered that offers consistent and incredible service. I leave every-time with a flawless manicure and thorough neck massage. Aside from having trained professional nail techs, bare luxury is the cleanest nail spa I have ever been to in NJ and NY. Management takes pride in this spa and you can tell by every aspect. The owner checks your nails every time as you leave assuring you are please and accommodates all concerns. I am so happy to have found Bare Luxury and will never go elsewhere!"
"I came here for the first time to try it out because I live nearby and severely regret it. I got a dip manicure on my natural nails, and they immediately upcharged $10 extra to do dip on "long nails" (they are slightly longer than the tips of my fingers). They nickel and dime you mid way through your manicure to upcharge for things. I had this weird feeling my technician wasn't certified during the entire manicure. I've been getting my nails done for years and she wasn't following the regular steps and drilled my natural nails down for so long, it was really painful. I wish I would've listened to my gut and either asked to see her certification or asked for a new technician because she drilled my natural nails so thin they split in half. Like my nails tore from cuticle to cuticle pretty far up on my nail beds. I don't know how to accurately describe how painful this is for me on an every day basis... my nail bed literally bleeds where they cracked. You don't realize how much you use your hands and nails for until you're in this situation. It's going to take so long to grow out and fully heal and I'm so sad. I really wouldn't recommend coming here, I highly question if all their technicians have the necessary training and certifications. I paid over $100 for my manicure."
"Update! My nails started chipping after 1-2 weeks. They fixed the first two times within the first week. I’m not mad since 2 weeks is their advised timeline but other nail salon’s last longer. This probably is brigade they use less toxic materials? Original: This is how a nail salon should be! Nice and relaxing. At my price range, I’m so used to being mistreated, sometimes yelled at, but the staff here are SO nice here I was surprised when they said yes to every request. The gel mani was around $60 by cash (forgot exact number), sounds expensive but it’s average or even low in the area, but I got more than its worth. Very soon into the mani, someone gave me a shoulder great massage and asked if I wanted to add 10 min for $18. I usually don’t like sales tactic like this but the massage was so good I said yes! The owner seems very nice to the staff which very important to me and everyone seems to be happy there. It’s a great atmosphere! Super clean as well. What made me write the review was when I went back with broken nails after 7 days (my fault because I’m very clumsy), they fixed them for me and refused to charge me. I gave them a tip and left happily. So glad to find this new place! Maria is awesome, she’s so calm you know she’s a pro. I just trusted her opinion and glad I did. The only critique was I wish the massage was offered later in the manicure so I could relax instead of trying to pick colors while enjoying the massage."
