"I booked a consultation here for a retwist using the sister lock process. When I arrived for my consultation the stylist was quickly able to recognize that my dreads were too thick for this process to be used. She was kind enough to offer me a refund for the cost of the consultation and said she would text me to schedule an interlocking service which would work with my hair. I was never given a refund, and she never reached out to me to book the interlocking process. I called multiple times, sent direct messages on instagram, left comments on instagram posts but never received a response."
"First time going to this salon after 2yrs of getting my Sisterlocs and looking for a permanent home to do my reties. Stylist was late but she called and informed me. Provided guidance for hair maintenance and booking online is very convenient."
"I have not been to Strandz in years, but I must agree with the negative reviews. As a haircare salon that is purported to cater to an oft-neglected clientele (black women) and their hair care needs, I find their business model (or lack thereof) very disappointing and disheartening. I, too, went to Strandz to have my hair done, and I was very satisfied with the results. I was all set to make Strandz my final hair care resting place....until I would leave message after message to no avail. It was the same with my mother and my niece, who also used the services of this salon in the past. If it is a matter of being overwhelmed with clients and not enough stylists, this should be expressed when potential customers are seeking their services. The attitudes and lack of response turn potential clients away from an otherwise great business."
"I have been to the salon about three times. A rule they have is if it has been several months since the last visit your hair could have changed and a consult needs to take place. The consult is quick and they don't even touch your hair they just take a look to confirm its natural. As a long time natural but not consistent client here that was a bit of an issue for me but I needed the service so i had to deal. I went for my appointment was pleased to see they have private parking. Upon entering my stylist was ready and I didn't even sit in the waiting room. My hair was thoroughly washed and conditioned, she then blow dried my hair on low / cool setting. The stylist was very pleasant, she and I had a nice conversation throughout about everything from food to hair care. She made me very comfortable and worked quickly. They didn't take card and I had to run to find an ATM when done but it wall worked out. Honestly likely to wrap it up here and not return. When looking for strictly natural hair care this place is a great option if you can get through the red tape of it all."
