"Very much thankful for all the work he's done on my 06 Honda Element over the past year, would not use any other mechanic. PERIOD!!! He(Jimmy) has done the most amazing job with the variety of work that I have brought him, trust me, he can do even the impossible, and is blunt/ honest upfront in a great way. "I don't know what the previous reviewer was talking about. I've seen these guys work on everything from Subaru's to Cadillac's. I've taken my previous Volkswagen's to him & I currently take my Chevy there. I'm not going to say he's a specialist in any one field, but I'd suppose he would be better at domestic than foreign. That's not to say that they don't get the job done. As far as him being honest or fair, if he wasn't either my family wouldn't take their cars to him for service, nor most of the residents of Wood Ridge or Hasbrouck Heights. I have always found him to be both honest & fair, personally, & nothing but forthright about whatever the costs may be including labor & parts. Coincidentally, I saw the previous review only because I had lost their card & Google'd their phone number. This came up & when I saw the poor review, I felt that the other side of the coin should be shown. I'm not affiliated with this establishment in any way & I've only gone to them a handful of times in the past, but again, they've always been forthright with me. I hopefully plan on taking my car there today, actually."

"The original owner was a friend of my father. He was great and the new owner Jim is even better. Very knowledgeable, very pleasant, I've never had a problem going here. I only rely on him for my automobile repairs."

"I've had only great experiences with Sun Service when they've done work on my Toyota and other vehicles. I find them scrupulously honest and fair. They even did an emergency repair on my dad's Honda when he was visiting from out of state and wouldn't take a penny. Jim was concerned that the repair was absolutely needed for safety purposes to get my parents home (and was correcting the work of my dad's normally trusty mechanic back in upstate NY). I have been recommending them for years and will continue to do so."

"20 years ago, when the owner of the Exxon station across the street from Sun retired, the owner referred me to Sun. I've been using their services regularly for the last 20 years. I bring both of our family cars, as well as my daughter's car, to Sun. His service is timely, cost effective, and quality driven. I've never had a bad experience using Sun Service - never! Jim is fair. In October, 2012, Sandy flooded a family car. I towed the car to Sun Service. Jim determined the engine could not be repaired - it would have to be replaced - then charged me nothing for that information. I'll continue depending on Sun Service for maintenance and repairs until either he closes or our family stops driving cars."
