"My wife, daughter & I had a nice experience at BONDI, a cozy and authentic Japanese restaurant in the heart of Manhattan, NoMad. We were impressed by the friendly, helpful & accommodating staff, actually it was one person, who helped me get into the restaurant easily by using a different entrance for my wheelchair, who made sure we had a comfortable table for our wheelchair. He took care of us & just about everyone else. Cant recall the gentleman’s name, Donny? He was the manager, at the time, waiter, & bartender. He was patient, attentive, always smiling, and gave us some great recommendations for our order. The sushi was fresh, delicious and beautifully presented, and we also enjoyed the miso soup. We felt welcomed at BONDI, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a Japanese meal in the city. Thank you, BONDI, for making our night special!"

"An intimate & familiar setting with experienced staff capable of making solid recommendations as things are more complex than they may seem. You can’t go wrong, I had to try most of the options because their attention to detail enticed a deeper dive down the menu. Good people providing massive flavors in small doses. Eat here, the cost is very reasonable. Mill, don’t grind."

"Great value omakase lunch specials. Recently came here to try the lunch omakase and some hand rolls. The restaurant was fairly packed, but I was able to grab a seat without a reservation. As soon as I placed the order, one of the chefs immediately started to work on my order and served them in a traditional omakase style where the chef presents the sushi one at a time. There were only two chefs working at the restaurant, but the chef made sure that I was served first. It was quite difficult to hear the chef’s explanation of the sushi, but I was able to figure out what they were. While there weren’t any rare sushi, they were all top notch quality, and my favorites were the scallop and the toro. The whole experience took less than 30mins, so it didn’t feel too excessive for lunch. I also added a wagyu hand roll which was essentially a wagyu sushi wrapped in seaweed. If you’re getting the omakase, I would recommend skipping the hand rolls as they may be redundant. They also used scallion toppings on a lot of the sushi, but it didn’t feel too overwhelming as the scallion flavor was subtle. Overall, the omakase was certainly worth the $70 price tag, and I would highly recommend trying it if you’re looking for a casual omakase."
