"Fairly expensive sushi for what it is, great staff, but unfortunately found a live fly in my bowl two bites in."
"I got the eel over rice and it came with a bunch of different vegetables. $24 that’s very expensive. It’s tasty but it was on the salty side. The eel was very small. There were more vegetables than eel. One of the sides was some kind of marinated onions. It wasn’t good. Tastes like onions you’d put on hot dogs. I wouldn’t return honestly. A small thing of eel on rice shouldn’t cost $24."
"where do I start with these modern places... One of the electronic menu boards was just displaying their music playlist instead of menu-- that's why I didn't know if they sold rolls or not until I asked and they apparently hadn't known that their menu wasn't showing. They tried to fumble with the technology but couldn't figure out how to fix it. The woman behind the counter offered to tell me each roll and the price for each one. I asked if they had a physical menu and they said they had none. They showed me the small kiosk on the desk that is used for NFC payment and adding food to one's order so that I could see the rolls. I decided which roll I wanted to order and then pulled out a 20 dollar bill; they said they don't take cash. (All this technology-dependent service is going to make you lose customers; there are plenty of people aside from me who will want to pay with cash or will have a more efficient time paying with cash.) So I reluctantly pulled out my card even though it was more efficient for me at the time to pay with that bill I had been saving, and that's how the experience with the store went. Next, the sushi. First, I only ordered one roll that was in a tiny box. However, the bag they gave me to put it in was massive and felt incredibly wasteful. When I could sit down to eat, I opened the box with the sushi. As someone who actually makes sushi, I can tell you that this sushi is incredibly low quality. The rolls are not rolled all the way. The taste of the seaweed is heavy and seems like the seaweed must have come straight from a grocery store or convenience store. I could still taste a hint of the vinegar in the rice which left a sort of bitter aftertaste, so I'm guessing they didn't mix it into the rice properly or add enough sugar or fan/fold it properly, if that's even how they made it. Also, a lot of the rolls had a very small amount of rice, avocado, or salmon in them (i ordered a salmon avocado roll) making them look smushed because they were so sloppy and empty. I paid 14 dollars for this one roll of this quality, which had only six pieces. You can get a better deal for more sushi of better quality at different places in NYC. I wouldn't go here again; I believe there should be more effort put into the food and service here."
"Waited obscenely long where my door dasher was not willing to wait. When I called the restaurant they said they gave it to another Savannah. They scrambled and made the sushi but was definitely very sloppily and quickly made. Bondi Sushi is good but I’d never order from this place again bc the service was so bad and it’s pricey."
