Reviews of Tomatoes
"Our waitress Katie was extremely nice and very accommodating. Food was wonderful especially the shaved Brussel sprout appetizer"
"Loved EVERYTHING about this place! Service excellent. Drinks were yummy. The food was fabulous!! First time eating a Poke Bowl, and it was so good. I will definitely come back."
"Went here for an anniversary dinner and loved the vibes. Upscale restaurant but still welcoming. Loved their flatbread of the day. Sushi was fresh and my carrot hummus salad was a huge portion of delicious Nj vegetables."
"Hostess and wait staff very helpful and welcoming. Food delicious and prices reasonable. We were greeted immediately, checked in for our reservation by the hostess and because we were early went to the bar for a drink. The hostess found us to point out there was an open seat at the bar where we could sit. Waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu, food options and clear about any delays at the bar or sushi station. (Everything arrived sooner than he expected). The sushi was delicious! The Chilean sea bass also delicious. My husband had the burger which was a combination of meats and was flavorful and filling. Dessert was another temptation and since all desserts are made on site we could not resist. It was worth it. Coconut cream pie and peanut butter pie. We had 3 drinks with our meal and all things considered we were expecting the bill to be more. If there is any down side I’d say it was how busy the restaurant was and it was still hopping when we left. If you’re looking for an intimate meal I would not go here. It was full and tables are a-little close. We were part of our neighbors conversation(not by choice). However, for the number of people it was not super noisy. Will I go back? Yes. Did I enjoy everything we ordered? Yes Do I feel I received value for what I paid? Yes."
"Don't get me wrong, the food at this place is really good. They have a huge menu and seem able to pull off sushi and traditional coastal cuisine really well. My problem is, this place seems to be overhyped. It is virtually impossible to get a reservation here (we ate at 8PM on a Sunday). It just doesn't seem to be worth the effort. There could definitely be more upscale places to eat in this part of the Shore but I will not go out of my way to grab a reservation here again. With that said, we did have a good meal. The menu is so diverse that it was a struggle to try everything that we wanted and we probably over-ordered. We started with the Parmesan Crusted Asparagus, which was probably my favorite thing we tried. It was kind of a unique spin on a staple and very tasty. It came with a great pesto aioli. We also got the Mozzarella en Croute, which was nothing special, but tasted good on some table bread. Our second course was sushi. We got a Philadelphia roll and a "Karen" roll. Both were prepared at the sushi counter and really good. It was cool to have such good sushi at the Shore. For the main course, we split the Cuban Pork Chop with a side of Truffle Mac n' Cheese. Both were also really good. The pork chop was seasoned really well and was bone-in. The Truffle Mac n Cheese was good but a whopping $11.50 for a small side portion. All-in-all, this place has some good food and enough options that everyone will be happy. However, the high prices and insane difficulty I had getting a reservation means I will probably pass in the future. If you can grab a spot, it's probably worth a visit. PRO TIP: There is a cool little seating area outside that has food trucks. I couldn't tell whether this was associated with the restaurant or not but it is definitely something to check out!"
