"My favorite style of pizza, cracker thin with cheese on the bottom & sauce on top. All pies are well done. The zucchini sticks were great also. The place is small and has a no frills vibe. Very affordable."
"Came here for lunch today after visiting the Hindu temple. We ordered 3 large pies. Classic tomato, veg & mustard. My first time experiencing mustard pizza and it was good. The pies were well done so nice and crispy. It’s the oldest tomato pie restaurant in the US! I grew up in this area in the 90/2000’s and never been!"
"1st time trying the mustard tomato pie and it was delicious! Only about a 45min drive from where we live in Union County. Definitely recommend."
"I travel everywhere for pizza. So when I heard there was a Trenton-style pizza (but also a mustard pizza), I knew I had to make the two-hour trip to Papa's. I really liked the sweet chunkier pizza sauce with small pieces of tomato. It reminded me of how Di Fara in Brooklyn prepares their similar sauce. And it was every bit as good. Moreover, we were recommended to do the mustard pizza with either sausage and garlic or sausage and onion. We did both. I was extremely impressed. The first image I had of a mustard pizza was of a yellow pizza where mustard replaces the pizza sauce. This couldn't be farther from the truth. The mustard is only picked up in hints of the flavor and is spread on the crust, while the tomato sauce goes over the cheese. The mustard flavor is not over-powering, and at times it's even hard to pick up on. The pizza has a super thin crispy cracker crust, which is a hallmark of NJ/NY pizzerias. There's a reason why this pizzeria was named best in Jersey. I will definitely stop in when I'm back in the area."
"I’m glad I finally got to try their famous tomato pie. The sauce was chunky and slightly sweet for my taste. The pie had more cheese than average for tomato pies, which I liked. The edges were crispy, but the middle was soft and a little floppy. The portions are huge, I got small which definitely could feed two. Overall I think it was good not great, but worth a visit if you like tomato pies!"
