"Had a wonderful dinner tonight, yes we went to purchase a gift certificate for friend for Christmas. Food was wonderful and young servers was very friendly. We do go every year . So we have a wonderful meal and get a Christmas gift at same time. Also bumped into long time friends. That's Staten Island for you. We were so full that we didn't order dessert but so thankful for the brownies they gave us. They were the best I've had and I'm a baker . Hometown restaurants are the best."
"Irish lasagna at lunch wasn't fit for a pet. Labelling this dish as a lasagna is clear false advertising. I wouldn't know what to call this dish. No cabbage to be seen. No rye croutons. Clearly not baked. Maybe microwaved? It was 90% oily swiss cheese. The server was sweet. She took that meal off of our tab. Unfortunately, we were not offered our included luncheon dessert so only can give 4 stars to her. My father did enjoy his seafood combo oreganata, but we can't trust this place's menu. Soups were tasty (lentil and spinach pasta) but thinking they are not made fresh at this point."
"I was with a party of 10. Everyone enjoyed their food. Most of us ordered off the price fixed menu. The ice cream brownie dessert was delicious. The restaurant was a bit loud."
"Even though I'm a native Staten Islander, I never really go to eat on this side of the Island. This place is an old school style restaurant and I heard good things about it, so at 59 years old I visited there on September 16, 2023 with my wife and another couple for the first time. We all loved the food. The menu is so big it reminds me of a diner menu but classier and we all loved our entrees and appetizers. The young waitress we had was adorable, efficient, professional and attentive. In short, we will definitely be going back to Canlons and highly recommend it to our friends and family."
"Very chill and relaxed place. AMAZINGLYYYY DELICIOUS FOOD!!! PERFECT ATTENTIVE SERVICE! SO SO SO MANY amazing food options! It was honestly hard to decide. We got the seafood appetizer sampler which came served beautifully in a tower and artichoke dip with delicious garlic bread (best I ever had). We got soups with our entree that were included (french onion and Manhattan clam chowder). Hubby and I though roughly enjoyed both. For main course I got "the lepprachan entree and hubby got the lamb shank. We both loved it!!!!"
