"If you're looking for some real Mexican food then come to this place. Most of their food and drinks are pretty good and prices are decent. I highly recommend making reservations (more than 2 people) if you plan on having dinner on a Saturday or Sunday night."

"I liked it. Excellent tex-mex food. The empanadas are as good as they are beautiful. The fried fish tacos and chili rubbed beef Quesadillas are a can't miss. The Amboy Road location is beautiful. Lots of parking. The service was super attentive. I definitely plan on returning."

"UPDATE: Hosted my daughters 10th birthday party. Service was FANTASTIC. Our server could not have been nicer. Food was great as always and the staff were very accommodating UPDATE: Gave Sofia's Taqueria another try on 03/08/22. Food was good. Had the Fish Tacos which were great, my wife's blackened chicken tacos were just okay. The chips and salsa were great as were the drinks. Service continued to struggle. Our server Yaheil (sic?) Was working pretty hard, but seemed to be overwhelmed. The bus boys and other assistants were on top of things but things still seemed slow and we had to wait quite a while for the check. This was further strained by the fact that there seemed to be quite a few staff hanging out in the front. Looks like the kids were running the place. Good food, decent service, but it looks like they still need some serious management help in the front of the house. Old review: The food was good but the service was inexcusably BAD. Went on Veteran's day at 3 pm. Busy but not too busy. Service was slow and the waiter's kept on apologizing saying they were short. No big deal, we were patient. Drinks came out after we finished eating and we had to flag down a server for dessert. Still, no big deal, COVID right? The final straw was waiting over twenty minutes for a bill and then going to the register to find 6 hostesses hanging out at the register and 5 waiters eating and drinking at the bar. Not sure if there was any management present here but it was certainly lacking. Too bad. Food was good and we could really use an upscale Mexican place in Eltingville. Service was inexcusable and rude. We will not be back. Driving to Jose Tejas in Woodbridge for my Mexican food."

"Every time I come here, the experience is worse. The salsa cup continues to shrink every time. Now it's literally a teaspoon of salsa with the chips. Ridiculous. Also, the service is terrible. They barely attend to the table even when the restaurant is almost empty. Lots of waiters walking around doing seemingly nothing. All with glum looks on their faces. Also the woman at the counter looks like she is forced to be there. No enthusiasm whatsoever from anyone. I’ve been here a few times but I think that this will be my last."
