The Old '76 House

"A must eat if you are in the area. The place opens at noon. If you are going to eat there later you might need a reservation because they get busy according to the receptionist. The welcoming door greater Hudson was awesome. The look and service were awesome. Everyone there was friendly and very inviting. We had the fish and chips, and it was great. One of those places you wish the walls could talk. I wish they sold their t-shirts they were wearing or magnets and stuff. We waited about 1/2 before they opened and walked around the block looking at the old shops and houses. Plenty of parking a must place to stop and eat."

"We were last here 50 years ago. It has changed. For the better. Back then they had good food and good service. Now they have better food and better service. George Washington would be happy."

"What a wonderful atmosphere, very colonial. It's nice to relive a bit of history. The staff was very accommodating and attentive even as they were busy with multiple groups of patrons. They had live music which also added to the atmosphere. The locally produced hard cider was light and crisp. My entre was decent, the sides of spaetzle and red cabbage were tasty but the breaded pork patty was not as good as it could have been. It seemed possibly mass produced and not lovingly pounded by hand then breaded. On the dessert side, the creme brulee was excellent . Thank you for a very nice meal"

"My boyfriend and I had an amazing experience at the 76 house! The staff and our server Jessie treated us like family and were extremely kind. The food was delicious and we enjoyed the steak, scallops, and especially the thanksgiving egg rolls. I will definitely be returning and was so impressed with the experience. "The Old '76 House has a cozy atmosphere with a fireplace and wooden floor that creates a warm and inviting feel. The live soft music adds to the calm atmosphere, which is perfect for brunch. The service is good, and the prices are fair (be aware though: there is an extra fee if you pay by credit card). I went there for brunch and had a good time. The onion soup was nice and smooth with great flavors. The steak and eggs and potatoes were tender and juicy. Lastly, the Belgian waffle was superb, not too sweet with nice whipped cream and fruit on top. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great brunch experience."
