"I went to this pawn shop to get an estimate for WHAT a sterling silver waste holder (for tea bags) would be worth. A tall, bearded gentleman took a look at the mark and told me with absolute certainty that it was silver PLATED, because it didn't say "Sterling silver". It did say "Sterling" but because it didn't add "silver" he said it was just the company name and not worth anything. The company name is International Silver Company, it is marked Sterling because it is STERLING. He didnt even test it. I took it to another pawn shop, and it was tested, and it WAS Sterling Silver. This employee had no idea what he was talking about, I believe he just didn't want to buy from me. By the way! It was worth 100 dollars. Not "worthless". Not silver plated. Don't bother coming here if you want to sell your silver, they will dismiss you as an idiot."
