"I have been going here for a few months. I have a high risk pregnancy and anxiety. I asked if my room would be locked with the baby because our family is not comfortable with unlocked doors. Instead of reassuring us that VCU has a high level of security, they interrogated me and made me panic even more. I felt worse leaving the obgyn office than when I went in. A social worker and NICU nurse came in asking me all these questions like I was trying to plan some sort of illegal activity. The nurse had her badge flipped around so I could not get her name."
"After having two very traumatic births with my first two kids pph my third and final was a breeze they prevented the hemorrhage this go around I want to thank my drs and nurses especially my surgeon Dr Krause and my anesthesiologists they were very reassuring and I finally got to have the birth I wanted one with no complications they have changed there visitor policy which is great my first two were Covid baby’s you can have 4 visitors all around it has been a great experience this go around"
"Starting with the pluses: attentive and competent anesthesia team, professional c-section operation. Minuses: long wait for recovery room, terrible food (often missing items and delivered late), unempathetic nurses, heavy handed in pushing exclusive breastfeeding immediately post-operation, nurses missing or withholding painkiller doses, nurse practitioner didn't seem to care and just wanted patient to discharge ASAP to make room, OB took out c section bandage too soon and without care, medial students floating in and out constantly at inconvenience times for patient doing repetitive checks that are unnecessary (be mindful this is a teaching hospital, you'll be made a guinea pig in many ways). Would not recommend anyone to deliver at this hospital."
"Regretting choosing this hospital to deliver our child. We have a 6 year daughter that would love to be a part of seeing her new sister at delivery, but per there antiquated covid policy she will not be allowed in the room to see and hold her sister. Every other hospital in the area has abandoned these types of policies. Doesn’t seem like much of a “family centered” approach as per their website. She should be able to test negative and see her sister!!!"
"I got induced at 40 weeks +1 day. Nurses and doctors were amazing. My obgyn is great, she followed me for 40 weeks and always take great care of me and my baby. The room where I delivered was spacious, the other room where they took me and my newborn after delivery was way too small. Great experience!"
