Crosswinds Apartments

"My ceiling was falling in they charged me to move into another unit that was just as bad. They credited my account yold me not to pay I have the statement only to charge me later and have no explanation. Lost my payments and all and have no answer for anything! Management has changed numerous times people payments weren't posted til months later. Maintenance is great tho. They try n help. Still having issues in the apartment they moved me to. I've contacted a lawyer at this point."

"I been here for 6yrs coming from New York ,it's been crazy with all different owners. I finally feel better now the management company now are awesome. I'm waiting on how the next process on the upgrade on the apartments they did a little to mine kept doing what yall doing crosswinds I'm ok with it"

"When I moved into Crosswinds March of 2021, I loved it! Management was great and very helpful with my move in process. After they switched management in December of 2021, it all went downhill. it was months before we even heard from anyone about our rent, every time I would call, I would NEVER get an answer. When you go into office, they act like they're so busy and can't answer a few questions. Sherri is very ignorant and only helps who she wants to help. I've called them multiple times to call Rent Relief so they can receive the money I owe them, and they claim they called. I finally decided to go into office, before I even entered the building, I sat in my car for a good 10 minutes and maintenance person arrived about entered at the same time. When I finally went inside, Sherri and her maintenance person was talking about nothing but their personal lives, when she finally acknowledged me, I asked her politely if she was able to call the Program for me since it was my only day off. She proceeded to say that she was "too busy" and that I can come back later or make an appointment. on top of this, the ROACHES are HORRIBLE no matter how clean you keep your apartment!!! it's a lot more to these apartments but I do not recommend them until a new office manager takes over!!"

"When I first moved in I didn’t have many issues, however, over the last several months Crosswinds has become very disappointing. I am especially disappointed with The Franklin Johnston Group, who took over in December 2021, because it became impossible to get in contact with the front office. They kept the office door locked all day so residents could not go in, they did not answer the phones, and they did not reply back to emails, which they claim is the best way to contact them. To address their lack of communication, the leasing office sent out snarky, poorly written notices to residents and insisted that email is the best form of contact, despite the fact that they did not reply to emails. I am not sure if they have gotten better with communication, but I am honestly so turned off by their unprofessional behavior that I do not even try talking to them anymore. They are fantastic at communicating (via letters) to remind residents to pay their rent and utilities, though. The apartment units are falling apart and I see that Crosswinds is making external upgrades, but to my knowledge they have no plans to repair the inside of the units. The biggest safety issues come from residents and the visitors they invite. These visitors are allowed to park anywhere they want until 9pm, which is ridiculous considering they do not pay to live here, and often stay overnight or for days at a time. At least every other week there are domestic fights, some of which result in paramedics and police getting involved, and to my knowledge there have been 2 incidences, including a drive-by, involving someone getting shot. There are groups of boys who sit inside the building hallways at night smoking weed, being loud, and vandalizing the buildings. Sometimes these boys will start fights with other people in the parking lot or behind the buildings at night. I could deal with all of these issues if Crosswinds at least maintained affordable rent, however, they increased rent by almost $30 last year and I anticipate they will continue to increase rent $20-30 this year, despite the declining condition of the units and the problems I listed above. I will say the only great thing about Crosswinds is the maintenance supervisor, who is probably the only employee that genuinely cares about the residents and the upkeep of the property."
