"We came here last year for the Igloo dinner and had such a wonderful experience. The menu, food and service was 5/5! We also had a birthday in our group and they went above and beyond to make it extra special ( private tour and sampling). When the Igloo’s went up we knew we had to go back! We went last night and experience was nothing like before! Appetizers were decent, but our entrees were served COLD, not lukewarm but cold. I hate to complain, but knew I wouldn’t be able to eat cold steak and shoestring fries(no other option for sides). I asked our waitress if my plate could be heated and she replied all she could do was place it in the warmer for me.. it returned just as cold. The steak was very thin and the whole presentation was just lacking compared to before. Our waitress was sweet but sadly not knowledgeable about drink options and what was available. When making the reservation it asked if we were celebrating a special occasion and we informed we were celebrating a birthday, no acknowledgment was made this time, which isn’t a deal breaker but compared to last year I was surprised. We LOVE the view and setting but will not be back. I truly hope management realizes what a gem this place is and corrects the issues."
"The food was very good. There were nine of us girls, so everyone ordered different things, and we all tasted each other's dishes. I'm only giving four stars because the Peach Creme Brulee was very disappointing! It's supposed to be served chilled with a warm crunchy top. It was served too hot, and the custard was broken. The sugar on top was burnt, so it made everything else taste bitter. No hint of peach, except for the two slices of CANNED, not fresh, floating in the custard. It was topped with strawberries/blueberries and whipped cream... maybe to cover the burnt sugar? Definitely would not recommend it. The burger was advertised as being cooked medium, which is my favorite, but it was more towards well done...still good, though. The atmosphere was fantastic, especially in the cellar!"
"My husband and I visited Abingdon a couple of weeks ago, and we had the pleasure of dining at Summers in the cellar. We were fortunate enough to come right after the new menu was launched and were excited to try several of the smaller plates, along with our entrees. Everything was absolutely outstanding, and service was perfect! We can’t wait to return to Abingdon, and Summers Roof & Cellar on our next trip! Below are just a few of the items we had."
"Tried Summers Roof and Cellar. We got the Roof Top Steak and Pizza. We also had a deviled egg appetizer. The steak was cooked perfectly. The brown sauce and mushroom topping was excellent. We also had a personal sized pizza. It was good but not much sauce or cheese. Mostly just a flat bread with light toppings. Meals came with no salads or bread. The menu lacked a lot of variety and options and it was very expensive. They also have an upstairs and downstairs location. You cannot get the same items at both locations. We wished we would have tried the Cellar location, which is in the same building, because it had better steak selections but we were not aware of this until after we had already been seated and ordered."
"Amazing restaurant! We were seated into the cellar due to an evening rain. It was literally dinner and a show as the girls had a full view of the open kitchen. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding. We did go to the rooftop bar to enjoy a drink before dinner. Great, friendly service while seated at the bar. Can't wait to dine on the roof one nice evening. We enjoyed the salmon, scallops and mussel dishes. All tasty and served fresh. The wine list is deep and impressive. A complimentary glass of champagne for the birthday girl was a nice touch. Go dine here without hesitation. You will leave knowing you had a special experience. The photo is our cellar seating view of the chef's kitchen area."
