"This is a late review, about 2 years but I wanted to leave one as my daughter who was delivered here almost 2 years ago. As I reflect on her life as it approaches her birthday I am filled with so many positive memories of my labor and delivery experience. My labor and delivery nurse was so kind and compassionate, she respected my birth plan, we went over it together and talked through every point which was fulfilled. She gave me space to labor since I chose to have a no medication natural vaginal birth. In postpartum I had the best nurses who cared for me and my baby and showed me even little things like how to swaddle my baby. Fair Oaks Hospital for Labor and Delivery unit are prepared for every type of birth you may have whether you want to go straight natural no medications (they honor that decision) or if you are having a planned induction or scheduled c-section. Highly recommend this hospital if you are planning to go the hospital birth route!"
"Delivered all my three children here.. Seriously wonderful. This time around the nurse April and Shannon helped me deliver our baby around Christmas time. Everyone is knowledgeable, and kind. Thank you , seriously!"
"My fiancé and I had our daughter in May. I was high risk and went into labor 5wks early, and needed an emergency c-section. The nurses were made aware of my need for minimal to no male staffing due to past trauma that I have, and they were extremely accommodating. My obgyn was on call that night which was already so helpful, but the other staff were so nice and gentle and told me exactly what they were doing during the process of things. I don’t know how else to explain it, but I was absolutely terrified to have my daughter and they made it so easy for me to trust them. It did make me sad that recording wasn’t allowed during or immediately after my c-section while we were in the OR since I can’t remember my daughters cries or even kissing and touching her for the first time due to the drugs and adrenaline. The staff was amazing though and did take pictures for us as a family with me on the table still. I am so happy I chose that hospital to take care of me and my family during such an important event. The room was pretty comfortable other than not being able to adjust the temperature and my fiancé did say the pull out couch could be more comfortable. In the maternity ward I only had issues with one nurse acting against my wishes and she was quickly removed from my care team once hospital administration was made aware. While waiting for the lactation consultant to help me breastfeed my daughter I was actually visited by the assistant medical director (I think?) and she was so lovely and cared about mine and my family’s wellbeing and experience! She even noticed I was hurting from my milk coming in and helped me get comfortable until lactation got there. It was so nice. The food was amazing for us, even my weird request for a tuna salad sandwich with cheddar and cucumber. It was so nice that if it got close to closing time for meals they would call to make sure I ate if i hadn’t ordered yet. All of that just to say that overall it was an amazing stay and I would do it all over again because of them. I’m so sorry I can’t remember my staff’s names, but thank you so much for taking care of us how you did."
"If you are debating giving birth at Fair Oaks or another hospital, I would 100% recommend Fair Oaks. I had the absolute best experience, and I wanted to highlight some of my favorite nurses across the labor and delivery floor as well as postpartum recovery floor. My water broke early at 36 weeks, so I was in the hospital for 5 full days before I was able to be discharged with my son. Since he was early, the nurses and doctors had extra things they had to do such as the car seat test, some extra antibiotics, and ensuring his blood sugar was stable. The nurses in labor and delivery that were absolutely incredible but are not limited to Katie, Chad, Leann, and Rileigh. All of these nurses went above and beyond for my family, my pain management, and easing my anxiety regarding delivering early and being induced. On the postpartum side, there are also a few nurses I would like to highlight as well. Blen, Jillian, April, and Michelle were absolutely lovely and helped immensely with my son as well as my postpartum recovery. With this being my first baby, I was extremely nervous, and the fact he came 4 weeks early definitely did not ease that anxiety. However, all of these nurses truly meant the world to me with how much they cared for us. This was truly the best experience I could have ever asked for and I am so incredibly grateful."
"My husband and I delivered our first child at Fair Oaks, and we had a wonderful experience. ALL staff were kind, patient, and experienced. They respected all of my decisions for birth and helped me get through labor, delivery, and post partum. I wanted an all natural birth, and the nurses (Leah, Katie, Jennifer, Michelle, Patricia to name a few) were right there to help me through. In the end, I did opt for an epidural, and I was so frightened. But Dr. Thanh gave me peace. The whole procedure was complete in practically two minutes and just minutes after that, I was relieved of pain while still able to move comfortably. Dr. Pickens delivered my child with ease, walking me through the labor professionally. The lactation consultants empowered me to breast feed when it was initially very challenging. As this was my first child, I didn’t know what to expect and brought an over packed bag that I honestly didn’t need. At Fair Oaks, you can come empty handed. They provide you and your baby with everything you need from ice packs to diapers. The chairs in the rooms, which are nicely sized, turn into beds which was very welcomed for my husband. Lastly, the best food is at breakfast, especially the French toast and coffee. We are really so thankful to Fair Oaks and hope to have our future children there."
