"Sometimes we all just need a little help, and I would highly recommend Finding Solutions if given the opportunity, specifically Dr. Moorman, but also their associates! This is a wonderful practice with services for almost everyone and all situations! If you’re looking for couples counseling or marriage counseling in particular, reach out! What better investment for your marriage than to dedicate an hour a week into your marriage! Reach out to finding solutions!"
"As someone who has sought therapy many times throughout my life, I know the importance of finding a caring therapist to help navigate and understand mental health. I was referred by a friend and although I have not had a session yet, I have heard such wonderful things. Dr. Craig’s daughter is my dear friend and anyone who has raised such a loving person has to be a kindhearted individual."
"My father, Dr. Moorman, is as much the person he is professionally as he is outside of his clinical walls. As a father he has been a strong representative of paternal character for myself and our family. He has always striven to be available to me, worked to be a strong role model for myself and my children, and more than anything resounded with an absolute exuberance for interpersonal ties with family, friends and society as a whole. My father and I have always had a close relationship. He is a busy man, but always takes the time to get in touch and spend time. I know the northern VA community respects and leans on his wisdom. That’s why he’s spoken at Fairfax County School board meetings, churches, psychology conferences etc. You aren’t invited to all of that without living by the standards you recommend to your clients. I saw a previous review made some unsettling allegations regarding his relationships with his clients and even his children. As his oldest son (and a child from his first marriage) I was appalled at some of the things that were suggested. I’d like to address those allegations head on. My parents divorced 25+ years ago. It was a trying time for he and my mother. In the end, both parted ways over several personal differences that are really nobodies business but their own. Furthermore, advice he may have given in a session with regard to navigating those dynamics should, first and foremost, be confidential. In my opinion, to do otherwise begins to question the therapist/client confidentiality relationship. My father has and always will hold that confidence in highest regard, as evidenced by the fact that he did not divulge that he was seeing a client to another client regardless of the situation. Confidentiality is the foundation of trust for any professional therapist. To not hold to the same standard that has been offered by my father as a professional, and, further, to also cast undue aspersions besmirching his personal relationships and professionalism is just beyond the pale. I will simply say, and my father would whole heartedly agree that reconciling relational ties should always be the ultimate goal. Sometimes love places a requirement upon us to make tough decisions. To that point, regardless of the relational tensions, if you are seeking to reconcile and navigate during difficult times you could not do better than working with my father as your therapist. Here I think an old but faithful metaphorical question may be useful to consider. If you are seeking a captain to navigate you through rocky waters do you seek the one who has had the best of schooling, the one with the best experience, or the one with the best track record? My father IS all three. Isn’t that what we all want in a therapist, someone that’s both professional and relatable who has the experience to understand? That’s my dad: great fishing partner (and guide), diligent father, loving husband, and wonderful therapist. My father has diligently served us as the patriarch of our family: visiting us, calling, spending time with his grandkids, pouring out his wisdom on our families (especially how to not end up in relational turmoil). He has raised myself and my sisters (from both marriages), helped my wife and I navigate through the early years of marriage (and avoid several pitfalls along the way), been a sounding board for me time and time again, and, most importantly, simply worked to be a part of our lives as any father and grandfather should. He is the same person in office and out of office, no sugar coating. In 2020, hospitalized and in a life and death struggle with COVID, I called and spoke with him as often as I was able. For a while I had to consign myself with updates from his doctors and nurses as he was unable to respond himself. However, when I did get to speak with him he would always say how he had to get well so he could get back to his family and clients. He has a genuine passion to reconcile relationships and families. Anyone would be lucky to have him. I know I have been. ~Jonathan Moorman"
"I know Craig Moorman well and although I have not been a client of his, I’ve heard from others of the wisdom, consistency, and availability Dr. Moorman has provided to his clients."
"I would never recommend Craig Moorman. He was seeing my 16 yr old daughter at the time who had depression, anxiety, and ADHD. She saw him for a couple years after I got remarried. A few years later he started seeing my husband privately behind my back and advised him to kick my daughter out when she was in a time of need. This man has no ethics and only cares about putting money in his pockets. The red flags were there when I realized he didn’t have a good relationship with his kid(s) from his first marriage. Ladies, if you have a problem in your marriage he will advise your spouse to go behind your back and not openly discuss things like adults. Stay away!"
