Reviews
"It's a gravel parking lot. Not much to say. Medium sized....depending on how folks park."
"Great access to the James. It's a popular takeout for innertubes and puton for rafts/kayaks. Very busy on warm days and not much in the way of overflow. There are railroad track between the lot and the river so plan accordingly if you spot a parked train. There are restrooms close to the entry/exit which are fairly well kept."
"Nice trail, well maintained. We didn't see any trash and it wasn't terribly busy which was surprising. The lot is small so you may have to go find a spot elsewhere or a busy day. They have an unloading area for kayaks and paddle boards."
"Nice gravel parking lot, but it fills up early on nice days. Interesting walk along the river to Belle Isle. It starts off on a gravel road but there are some uneven and slightly challenging pathways before the pedestrian bridge to the isle. There's plenty of parking at Stone House and a nice trail along the creek to walk down to the Reedy Creek trailhead."
"We enjoyed a very nice hike with our dogs. We walked a loop of about 3.5 miles from the Reedy Creek trail parking lot, through Buttermilk trail, then under Nickels Bridge and back from trail along the river (Riverside Trail). We bathed in the River (very carefully, due to strong stream). Our dogs and us had a very nice afternoon!"
