"Nice spot to put in a kayak and the lake was beautiful. Bummer was, I unintentionally left a little swivel seat bucket lid by my auto when I put my yak in the water and when I got back it was gone. Frickin theives."
"Charming place, just very easy on the eyes with rolling hills and low areas filled in by the Holston River. Some areas are completely cut-off as independent ponds until the spring rains fill it up to the brim. Once you learn the history of the area (pre-1942 when Cherokee Lake was created), it gains additional significance. You can see the old 2 lane Rt. 25E and you can see the railroad bed where the trains ran from the OLD Bean Station down to Morristown. There's a rail crossing just southeast of Noeton that's clearly visible almost 100 years later. Btw, Noeton is underwater all year round so you'd need scuba gear to see that! If you reference the Bean Station topographic map from 1939 (available online) you can see how the area looked before it was flooded."
"The trail is beautiful, a little rocky, but shady and wide. The only downfall is that the small beach area was trashed. Lots of beer bottles and cans left behind which is a shame because it's an awesome spot."
"Not overgrown today, very nice. Explored off trail too. No signs of Ford cemetery."
"Nice little place to explore. One main gravel road with a few cut offs. Far enough back and you'll find a trail to the lake which is way down providing almost endless places to walk and explore."
