"Great views and its along the Appalachian Trail. Views start in about 1 mile from the trail headnif parking at Cow Gap Camp."
"Absolutely stellar hike. Perfect mix of ups and downs, meandering well packed trails, and the views are amazing on this fall day! Just enough leaves dropped to enjoy the views most of the trail, but enough still holding on to get the fall glory!"
"This is one of my favorite hikes I've done on the east coast. You get such a variety along this trail from the wide open meadow to the lush forest. I would say this is a moderate intensity hike, but the trail is very well maintained and a good deal of it is shaded. I did this trail on a weekday in August and saw so many butterflies, mushrooms, and flowers. It's really stunning and I'd highly recommend it to any hiker! There's a small parking lot on Wiggins Spring Rd. The road isn't totally paved, but I was able to safely drive there in a VW golf so you don't need 4WD or a crazy vehicle to get there."
"This Hike is a GEM! As you gain elevation the subterrain changes making it the expirience completely different. Peaceful, beautiful and magical are words I would use to describe this amazing trail. The reasons it is shy of five stars is because it is a little longer than what all trails displays. We completed it at 6.64 miles. There are two very steep gains in elevation about .25 miles each so be sure your equipment with proper shoes and plenty water. Nature will humble you here lol! Also the parking is VERY small and the gravel road leading up to this is a bit rough on a normal sedan. Recommend 10/10"
"Worth the effort it takes to get here. Driving up to Hog Camp Gap (parking and camping) not advisable if you have a low riding car. 4WD/AWD with clearance recommended. 360° views from the top are amazing if the weather is clear."
