"Traversing the Sharp Top Mountain Trail in Bedford, Virginia, during the winter months transforms the experience into a magical journey. The snow-covered landscape adds an enchanting layer to the trail, creating a serene and peaceful atmosphere. The crisp air, combined with the tranquility of the snow-covered trees, enhances the scenic beauty. While the trail may present additional challenges in snowy conditions, the reward of reaching the summit amidst a snowy panorama is truly worth the effort. Be sure to check trail conditions and bring appropriate gear for a memorable winter hike on Sharp Top Mountain. Me and my pups enjoyed early snow this year. The hike was really enjoyable even though the melted snow made it a little difficult to descend as the rocks and steps got slippery. Despite the challenging traverse, the view at the top was breathtaking with strong winds, which made resting easy. The sunrise was beautiful with the fiest light scattering across the horizon."
"We took a shuttle one way to get to the top, and it was a challenging hike back. Absolutely stunning views at the top."
"You can take a shuttle, then a little climb to get to the top. There were Nats, but I'm not sure if that's what you call them. They were so bad you couldn't enjoy the view."
"This is a great hike! It's about 1.5 miles to the top. That sounds super easy, but the ascent is steep and rocky so be sure to wear good hiking shoes. I walk around 7 miles a day on fairly flat surfaces, and that did not prepare me for Sharp Top!! It's a challenge but definitely worth doing!!! Plan your trip for early morning so it's not crowded. The three of us (myself, husband, and son) headed up the trail at around 7 a.m. It's nice a cool in the morning!!"
