"I met Dr Jessica Lee last April when I was diagnosed with ovarian cancer , she works as a team with my other doctor to help me through chemo, and took good care of me before and after surgery always answer all my emails didn't matter the day or time ,she is also very patient .I am so grateful to have her as my surgeon and gynecologist ❣️ ."
"I had a great experience a year ago, but when I called to schedule a follow up, they would not see me because the doctor who did my surgery has left the practice. They told me I was considered a new patient and since my referring doctor has since retired, I was told the easiest thing to do was to "Google" where my surgeon went and go see him there."
"will update after sugery. so far experience with office staff has been hard because they are going through staff changes. Everyone is very nice though and trying so hard. It is unfortunate that I have to be in the middle and affected by the offices issues, Dr Elkas was very nice and skilled he did come highly recommended. He is very busy so don't expect a lot of hand holding. a few months later: left and went elsewhere after surgery. in speaking with others that went to virginia cancer specialists, the education pre-op and pre-chemo is superior. AT MAGPOSA I was given a folder to read and a brusk nurse quickly going over things. The VCS staff give a folder and also have you watch a video. it is very thorough. I thought if this is the case then the rest of the treatment must be too. I have not been disappointed. both places could offer more support for when not at doctor. They shoudl recommend groups for support to join. home and social support is key and they both miss the boat on this. there are online groups and local groups that should be recommended. one thing i learned in a group is that insurance pays for wigs. (some do) I also learned how others handle side affects. its nice to talk with like minded souls on or who completed a similar journey."
"Love love love Dr. Elgas , he is kind , caring , and has the best bed side manners. Dr. Elgas explains everything clearly, he’s easily understood , so whatever he feels may be best for You , You feel confident with his decision and your in excellent hands . Meana his nurse is very nice and caring , Mia who works in the office goes out of her way to help you she is as sweet as could be. I met India today what a lovely young lady . Also when I check in and check out I’m welcomed and appreciated ."
"I have never been more frustrated and given the run around by a Dr.'s staff as I have with this practice. Every person I spoke to gave me a different story. Was told I needed a referral, and that my GP could give a referral. Tried to call my current gyn Ocologist to send my records to transfer to the MAGOPSA and was told I needed them to request a release of my records. MAGOPSA would not because I am not a patient. Then I scheduled and paid for a video call with my GP just to get a referral (even tho I have a PPO). My GP sent the referral. I spoke to a 3rd person in the office who then told me since I hadn't had a test in the past 2 years they would not accept me. I have spent no less than 2 hours of my work time on the phone trying to appease this ridiculous referral rule just to become a patient. Gee, I hope I don't have Stage IV cancer. This type of ridiculous behavior is why people don't go to the Dr. If you want alot of red tape and a staff who is not on the same page, go to this practice."
