"A moderate 2 miles downhill hike to two beautiful water falls. Starting at Mathews Arm Trailhead near the end of group camping sites, follow Mathews Arm Road (horse trail) for about 1.2 mile, then turn left onto Overall Run Trail. You will see the smaller Upper Overall Falls first, then the main Overall Run Falls overlook shortly after. It's a bit steep switchback hike with lots of rocks in between two water falls. The overlook has a nice vista, it's a good spot to have a snack/lunch. You have 2 miles uphill hike back. Note - The parking lot at the trailhead is reserved for group site campers only. A few longer trails are connected with Mathews Arm Road in addition to Traces Trail loop around the campground."
"Lovely hike. It's a little rougher than I expected, meaning sizable rocks along the path. No issue, but wear appropriate shoes for such terrain. Great waterfall. Lots of ups and down on the 5 mile hike."
"Great hike if you want wildlife activity. Spotted a bear hiking down."
"Tallest falls in the park, but they only run after it's been rainy or spring time!"
"I enjoy camping here, and hiking the trails. There are connected trails for I believe hundreds of miles. I camp at mathews arm campground and hike anout 5 miles round trip to a stunning mountain view and a 34' waterfall and then a 98' waterfall. It is gorgeous. But be very prepared. It is not always easy hiking. But all the trails are very well marked and maintained. I always have fun in the woods."
