"Steep ascent in the beginning. Heading north there are a couple nice spots to watch the sunrise between miles 2.2-2.5."
"Somebody told me about this on the trail they said they thought it was open. I went down there was nobody around but there was directions that if you were a through hiker you could stay here. So I went to the bunkhouse and it was unlocked. I went in and made a fire. It was a complete game changer. Felt like I was coming down with a cold. The thought of spending the night out again in that cold. Was not at all what I wanted to do. The little cabin had a wood burner in it and heated up really nice. I feel like a snug in the bug is a rug, cozy, cozy. Feeling super lucky this is my last night on the trail. I've been at this through hike for 10 months and 8 days. Tomorrow will be the 9th day. I thought I could do this hiking 4 months. I was a good hiker but I came in hurt and then I kept getting hurt. A lesson learned. Anyway, five broken bones later to busted teeth. A torn labrum in my shoulder dislocated my shoulder twice, let alone all the busted bones. And it's still the best thing I've ever done in my life. Felt like giving up so many times. In fact, so many people told me to give up. Kept on here and the trail will be there next year. The trailer will be there next year. I've tried to hike this thing for 3 years in a row. It was a high school dream since 9th grade. I figure Satan was freaking with me trying to discourage me just one more time. Well screw you Satan tomorrow I finish and you'll always still be an a******. I meant that caretaker. He was cool. Showed me around showed me where the water was and where everything was wished me. Good luck! Looking forward to a nice warm night. God bless this place. It's your blessed me"
"I think this is the place I hiked to a few years back. Hosts gave us fresh baked brownies. Includes a little cabin with stove and four bunks as I recall."
"It wasn't the prettiest time of year for a hike, but it was definitely worth it. It's a simple hike to the viewpoint, and there are a few separate trails you can take. The road up can be a bit tricky if it's muddy, but all in all, it was super fun and quite enjoyable. Great hike for a simple family excursion or a basic adventure into the mountains!"
"Beautiful spot. Yes, the drive is a little tricky, but well worth it. Camp host directed us to a one mile loop, took about 40 mins. Definitely coming back!!"
