"Pt. 2 This morning I sent an email about how I wasn’t happy and didn’t wish to continue forward. I understand the office is closed through Monday so I’m hoping to have a response by then but this was handled so poorly. Not only is this frustrating, but it’s also a stressful and heartbreaking experience as I have difficulty seeking care due to my life experiences. Often I’ve dealt with medical professionals not caring for the individual as much as their compensation, and I was hoping that when going to therapy, it wouldn’t be the same, being you’re letting people into your mind & heart, and that’s not an easy thing to share. There’s been no apology for mishandling the situation. There’s been no communication since I mentioned I was dissatisfied. And honestly, when I spoke to Danielle, I said how important those sessions would’ve been for me. On Average, I make 3-5x the $600 needed to continue my services in a few days to a week and wouldn't have needed longer than a week to have IF I didn’t have it, which I do. And I don’t say this as a brag; I say this because I went from caring for myself as early as 11yrs old to being homeless for six years to finally being proud of my stability with little to no help at all. To be this suggestive in their wording and handling the situation is quite ridiculous. I have never felt so racially profiled through email and, honestly, wasn’t sure it was even possible. If you’re black, don’t go here. God forbid you miss a payment or two, or your insurance is wonky; they're just going to cancel your services, assuming you can’t pay. And don’t even worry about telling them you’ll be unavailable for 10+ days because it wouldn’t matter to them. They don’t care about anything other than payment, which honestly sucks. If you’re like me and need urgent care, plan for a backup plan. I wish I had. Now I’m waitlisted for another group, and after being made aware of my triggers and mentioning to my therapist how I wasn’t sure if it were helpful or harmful, I wish I had planned for something to go south so I wouldn’t have to manage such a difficult time by myself as the anniversary of my worst attempt is coming up. I will not have anything before then. I genuinely regret going here."

"PT. 1 !!!Be weary POC and Queer POC!!! *trigger warning: mentions of “attempts” I started my first session with Heart & Mind in mid-June this year. The sessions themselves seemed very helpful, being it’s taken me eight years even to want to seek help, but since I had attempted my life about a week or so before reaching out, I figured it was urgent as well as necessary to seek help. I was referred here and am now growing to regret my experience through the recent communication I’ve had over some discrepancies in my account. Mind you, I have never had a problem paying for my services, and recently there was a lapse in my insurance as it was a six-month agreement that ended. We had difficulties reinstating it after spending nearly $1000 to do so. From what I was aware, our insurance has been active since then, but, in some cases wasn’t reflecting as such, so we had to call often to get some things straightened out. Recently on 9/21, I was informed of the insurance being “terminated” through Patrica, who I assume deals with the finances of heart & mind; however, I never received that notice from my insurance myself. Throughout Pat’s emails, her language was very suggestive, as if I could not pay certain funds. I mentioned to Danielle, the professional I was seeking for service, that I’d be out of town for 10+ days. On this vacation, I hadn’t checked my email. Since June, my husband and I have only had five days off and needed a break. My trip was interrupted when I received an email stating my services would be canceled to make time to resolve a “high balance” of what showed to be either $150-600, which nobody has yet to explain how it even would amount, let alone be such an odd Range. Mind you, I’ve often mentioned how my husband and I have grown to be financially secure over the years. If I needed to pay $600 not to have my services canceled, I would’ve, but there was no communication between 9/21 and 10/4 regarding the account until then. I mentioned how the insurance should be active, and magically it was. We had made it “just under the window of submission for claims,” which is frustrating because had they not assumed the insurance was Terminated in the first place, they may have tried to rerun it before canceling the service. My card wasn’t even tried before withdrawing services to resolve said issue."
