"Belmont is a nice golf course that was chopped up to 12 holes with a chipping area, a 30,000 square foot green(which is expensive and a tough green to play.) A 6 hole par 3 course which is good for beginners.($15). A Driving range, and they still want $60 to play 12 holes."

"It's a decent course for your casual golfer. My main complaint was some of the tee boxes were so hard you couldn't get a tee into the ground. It is also only 12 holes unless you pay for the 6 par 3s."

"The course is in immaculate condition. I've never seen such a nice public course. The staff are friendly and easy to work with. The other golfers have been friendly too, even when being held up by those in front."

"This is an old classic golf course in the Richmond area. Has the distinction of holding the US Open Championship when Bobby Jones playing back in 1946 I believe. I played there today and I was really surprised at how good of condition the fairways and greens and tee boxes for that matter we're in. Nice wide open layout that is very novice friendly. Henrico county is the current owner but I believe it's going to be transitioning to a private company I certainly hope that they do not let the course go downhill. Worth every penny if you get an opportunity come out. Update: as you probably know Henrico County has partnered with the First Tee on this facility and is it undergone extensive renovations. There is a 12-hole course called Big Bell and a par 3 course called Little Bill now. They have extensive practice facilities which they have been redone. The only thing that you want to make yourself aware of, it this is a youth oriented teaching facility. So you will have younger people that are trying to learn how to play the game on the course. Obviously pace of play will be an issue sometimes. Other than that all the updates have made the conditions much better. All the sand traps have been completely redone. The greens run fast and true. My only other complaint is the layout on the back, the greens and tee boxes are in very close proximity to each other. So you have to be very aware when people are hitting approach shots. Also there is four holes where you cannot see people in the Fairway so it's difficult to know when the tee off this can also cause delays."
