"Dr. Contelmo delivered my son 3 years ago and then I followed her here for my daughter who she delivered a year ago exactly to this day. I just got into writing reviews that’s why it took me a year to write one lol. I will never forget the level of care I received from her in MY LIFE. When she was caring for me at Brentwood the very first appointment at 8 weeks pregnant down to my csection it was nothing short of amazing. When I got pregnant with my third and I got wave she was moving offices to Williamsburg even though I’m in Newport News and it’s a little ways to be going I did not care I knew I had to make it happen. She listens to my concerns while also letting me know what the safest thing for me and babe was. She is so gentle with exams, mind you I’m a handful lol. And the most important part I was actually terrified of having csections after my 1st experience when I was only 16 down in Florida. Ever since she did my next two deliveries I’d have a million c sections if she was my doctor. She came in on her OFF DAY to deliver my daughter she knew how bad I needed her to feel comfortable getting on that table. She held my hand before surgery to assure me everything was going to be ok when I sobbed TERRIFED. I could write a book. The postpartum care was also phenomenal. I was disgusted by my csection for no reason but I called up and made an appt because I was paranoid she wasted no time helping me clean it up the proper way with no judgement. There’s no words to describe how amazing this doctor is. If your questioning going to this practice. Don’t question yourself just go. And ask for Dr. Contelmo. The front office is very nice to and so are the nurses etc everyone I’ve encountered for that matter. But Dr. Contelmo? If I ever got pregnant again I’d follow her to Texas if I had to lol. She also tied my tubes which she did great talking me through that procedure as well. Anyways rant over. DR. CONTELMO IS AMAZING!!!!!!! I will be seeing her for my yearly check ups too. Sincerely, Tiara Edgerton"
"Dr Cole is AMAZING! Very understanding about my anxiety when it comes to doctors and health issues I have. He answers every question I have even if its 100 questions. He shows me the tools he will use and talks me through everything he does and if needed, explains the reasoning for it. He is very understanding of my personal choices and does not make me feel judged or pressure me into anything and always shows me the options I have for certain circumstances while still being open and accepting of the choices I make with my health. 100% the best gynecologist Ive ever been to and Im very grateful! As long as I continue to live here, he will be my doctor! The nurse that also does vitals is very sweet as well and has a great personality with exceptional character! I wish I had her name. Amazing job to you guys❤️"
"I had went here for 2 years and first I loved this office nurses was great and doctors was awesome well my doctors left and I got assigned to elize French a midwife there and she neglected me so bad never wanted to listen to how I was feeling and because of that my daughter was delivered covered in poop and purple and almost didn't make it then after that she inserted my iud without my cervix being fully dilated after I told her over and over it was extremely painful and my iud ended up going thru my cervix intomy stomachand I had to have surgery to have it removed .... DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL"
"Would not recommend if you have other choices of labor deliver. The doctors and nurse practitioners offer minimal information of your birth choices. New doctors are not familiar with questions on hospital settings. Nurse practitioners are not rotating at hospital therefore no way of answering questions relating to hospital birth plans. They claim they promote natural birth yet put forward a lot of birth constrains when it comes to supporting the birth plan. The insurance billing is also aggressive and confusing. We had ultrasound for 20 weeks, but was bill as X-ray. These two are completely different procedures... They also charge extra bill if you visit them for more than 7 times, something I've never even heard of. If you are looking for consistent and supportive provider, especially seeking virginal deliver, look somewhere else. I transferred to West End Midwifery and achieved my VBAC."
"It was extremely difficult to get a follow up appointment after having tests done. The office hung up on me a few times; the lady that I was corresponding with via My Chart acted like her phone was not working, although each time I spoke to someone else the phones worked fine. I felt that the gyn I saw was not compassionate and did not care to help me. I spent too many years dealing with this type of treatment. I have nothing positive to say."
