"I’ve been trying to get a hold of someone at the front desk for two days straight — unbelievable. I even left a voicemail and no one has yet to call me back. I was calling because the link they sent me to check in isn’t working, so I’ve been unable to fully check in. The doctors are amazing. I never had any issues with them. It just sucks that the front desk employees aren’t able to provide full customer service. Thankful I was even able to schedule an appointment two months back."
"I just had my first appointment with this office and saw Dr Casadaban. I was able to get an appointment quickly after getting hormone lab results from my primary care. Dr Casadaban was thorough and gave me plenty of time to speak. She reviewed my prior results. She provided great information on HRT when I expressed interest and told her my symptoms. She was kind and made me feel heard vs the typical “oh this is just part of getting old and you have to live through it” mentality. She wrote me a prescription that was ready at Harris Teeter that day. She made a follow up appointment for me to check in with her in 30 days to see if levels need to be adjusted and we are able to do this meeting virtually which is very convenient. My first experience was excellent and I’d definitely recommend Dr Casadaban"
"It seemed like they used to have some good reviews so I drove out of my way for a visit here. I had a visit about 5-6 months ago, for an IUD replacement. Did basic pap smear/check up and said they placed an order for new IUD. Everyone there was kind and patient so I had some good impressions. Then 2 months past and I forget about the IUD because they said I would hear back in about 2-3 weeks. Nothing. I call the number they provided for me to call if I did not hear back and they basically told me there wasn't even a record for my name and order. So I'm assuming this order was never placed. I've tried giving the office calls but it's seem they're always busy or they're closed. It is now almost 6 months later. I've given up and I will be getting my service done somewhere else. Waste of time."
"Had a basic “check up” appointment back in January. Everyone there was lovely and kind, it was a great experience. My IUD expired so we went to order a new one and I was told i’d get a call when it came in. I hadn’t heard anything by March so I called and they told me it might just be back ordered. I still hadn’t heard anything by June so I called and they got in touch with the place they ordered from and realized that it wasn’t even in stock. So they told me they’d order from another supplier and get back to me. August rolls around and I still hadn’t heard back so I call again last Monday and they said the order wasn’t placed. They said they’d place the order and call me back when the order is placed. I never got a call back. I really wanted to like HCWPC since they’ve always been so kind, but after getting forgotten so many times and something that is really important to me as a patient being thrown to the wayside, I can’t recommend this to people."
"I would never recommend this practice. In fact, I plan to switch providers in my third trimester - something I never imagined myself doing, but feel strongly now that this is the only path forward. We’ve been struggling with this practice for awhile, but my most recent appointment served as the last straw, as it was the worst medical experience I’ve had to date. Overall issues with the practice - 1) Impossible to reach them. You cannot get anyone on the phone (e.g., to make or reschedule appointments, get test results). My husband has called them perhaps 5 times over the last week (various days and times, but all during business hours) to reschedule my appt and no answer. I rearranged my conflict to show up to the scheduled time, given that I couldn’t take a chance of not getting seen again in a timely manner. 2) Their website is periodically down (last time it down for weeks) and portal is not managed consistently even when it’s working. With all that, it is near impossible to get access to your test results, unless you ask for a copy in office. This does not feel okay as a pregnant woman, anxious to hear how things are going with her baby. And if you think someone will call with your test results, think again. 3) Mixed experience with providers, ranging from average to bad enough that I’m going to switch practices. Overall, some do a better job than others of explaining what to expect / what’s next, but most spend about 5 minutes with you. I recognize that this may be in line with other practices, so may not be a unique consideration here. Specific issue with most recent visit - Dr. Porter was so abrasive, rude and condescending, she brought me to tears (something I’ve never experienced in a medical setting, and hope never to experience again). As a dentist and fellow provider myself, I find myself shocked to have been on the receiving end of such an experience. I’m still processing it to be totally honest. It got so bad I had to ask her to calm down and stated that I found her behavior abrasive, at which point she gave a half hearted apology and immediately walked out. I find this so frustrating and disheartening, as a woman’s relationship with her OB is so important, and one that I would hope would be built upon trust and compassion. You will not find that here."
