"The location is great but they’ve clearly leaned into their location supporting their business over providing quality rooms, finishes, and excellent service. Every single employee I encountered after the valet had an abrasive attitude. The front desk person at check out got an attitude with me, the hotel manager screamed at a guest as I was loading up my car (in her defense, these kids needed to be yelled at - but probably not in such a way - it was really unprofessional). The lobby and public areas are nice enough, but the rooms are mediocre at best. I’ve stayed at nicer Holiday Inn’s. The room was dirty and dated with beat up furniture. The bathroom is the smallest with dust and grit filled fixtures, stained tubs and sinks. It felt filthy. I come here for business. My expectations are to be able to return to a room that is clean, nice, and quiet. For me, it will be worth finding a room at a newer property elsewhere. If you are coming in town to party or do touristy stuff in Savannah, this is probably fine because of the location."
"I absolutely adore my stays at the DeSoto! I’ve stayed twice on business and the team here is incredible. As someone who travels frequently for work I don’t often get to stay somewhere with a team as great as this! Raven, one of the hospitality members, in particular is so wonderful to interact with- she checks in to ensure that everything is ok with my room and stay periodically throughout my time here and is always so friendly and recharging to interact with! Also, Shannon, one of the bartenders is phenomenal! These ladies deserve a raise!!! Very very very happy with my stay here!"
"Great location, nice size room. Very pretty hotel. Room could use more decoration and comfortable seating. Clean. Staff are friendly but there aren't enough of them. Breakfast was not available at 7am as promised--cook was late, hostess was sick. Hotel seems to be run by people in their twenties who are well-intentioned but lack experience."
"I went to a Christmas Party here and it was a lot of fun!! The ballroom was very own, nicely laid out. The food and drinks were amazing!! The DJ was great as well. The rooms we nice and clean!!! Valet parking available. The service was amazing from the pulling up, too entering into the building, from the front doors to the side doors. It was great service through and through!!!"
"Overall we enjoyed our stay at the DeSoto, although some things could definitely be improved to give it a true 4-star hotel experience. The rooms lack basic amenities like a refrigerator. No in-room drinks or snacks, no room service. The air vents look like they had never been cleaned. No exhaust fan in the bathroom. This looks like a 4-star hotel when you walk in, but the rooms definitely don’t reflect that."
