Southern Towers Apartments

"What management and ownership is doing is an abuse of the highest order. The Stratford is being rebuilt while we are living in it with out any consideration for our PEACE/HEALTH and WELFARE Lots of seniors can not sleep/rest in their own apartments while paying one of the highest rents. Shame-Shame-Shame-Shame"

"So, I am please with the services I received from the office staff. Everyone I spoke to was kind, helpful, and made me feel welcomed. I had been planning to move since November. Esther was kind enough to help me find a move in date more in line with what I needed. She always remembered me when I came in and Carmelita was amazing throughout the process as well. Rebecca the property manager is really cool and once again helped make my move in seamless. Hairatou is nothing short of amazing and Trana and Maki we very nice and polite. Everyone mentioned went above and beyond to make me feel special (even though there are so many residents that live here). I look forward to being a resident here and also they went the extra mile to give me a welcome basket. It contained small items like hand soap, toilet paper, disinfectant spray but hey that really came in handy once I got to my place. They are so thoughtful!! I love the leasing office/management team!"

"Definitely the most disgusting apartment building I’ve seen in my life. Dust everywhere. Showers don’t work. No AC. No heat. People will walk into your apartment without asking because for some reason your shower is broken. $50 to get a spare key? Smells like cheese on most floors. Staff is unprepared and rude except for one or two people. Mailroom is disorganized. Stolen mail and outdated organization system. Minimum two days before you need to swiffer the floors. Property owners are condemned by the VA governor and legislature for being reckless and predatory towards renters. Meant for people who can’t afford much but they charge insane rates for a room the size of a closet. Buildings should be torn down. Probably the only eyesore in Alexandria. CIM group should be sued by the state or anyone who can afford to, just kidding, no one can afford to because these apartments only appeal to people who are having a hard time. Not to mention sexual harassment in the lobby."

"Not bad, not great. I lived in Ashlawn for a year. Pros: -Reasonable cost -Decent location -Maintenance crew is pretty good -Free parking -I didn't see many roaches or other bugs Cons: -Lobby and common areas could be improved -Frequent issues with the elevators -Occasional issues with flooding -I was an exceptional tenant, never late with rent, took care of my apartment and returned it in excellent condition (including thoroughly cleaning it) and yet they still couldn't resist taking a piece of my security deposit. There are legitimate times to keep some of the deposit, and then there are just overt efforts at greed. In my case, it was the latter."
