Colonial Heights Animal Shelter

"On 1.4.24 at 11am, 3 vehicles were parked inside the locked gates. We met a man who had been parked outside, waiting for a good while, to donate a large amount of cat and dog food. He had seen people look out the window, but no one came out. But when he honk, a women poked her head outside, screamed for us to "not honk the horn again." The other man told us that he would never donate food nor come back again. Another employee came out, asked what we wanted and told us the leave the sheets outside the gate on the ground. We will never go back!"

"Be aware if you turn in any strays here the first thing they do is threaten you with court orders. It’s ridiculous, they’re so judgmental and racist. This is the second experience i had with them and it’s been the same both times also with other friends and family. It’s disgusting"

"Came to meet my foster dog, Mindy, with my grand daughter. They set everything up with the rescue organization, I left the same day with the dog, a collar and leash, a bag of food and a kennel. They even helped me get her in my vehicle! Very nice, informative, helpful and friendly!"
