"It is a shame of how ugly the women’s attitudes at the front desk are. Allison Alford is an awesome doctor but I will not be returning to this practice again. I was very respectful and patient with the women at the front desk in every interaction I have had but received VERY harsh abrasive behavior. I am unsure how there are still patients going here. I saw other reviews about the receptionists and now I am positive of how true they all are. At first I tried giving them the benefit of the doubt thinking they may have had a bad day, as I was once a receptionist for many years and know the struggle…. but no, it’s every interaction. Dr Alford is great, but the receptionists ruin this practice I would highly recommend avoiding."
"My daughter had her initial appointment with Dr. Alford recently. We weren’t sure what to expect but were desperate for guidance and a plan on how to help alleviate her month long migraine. Dr. Alford spent a lot of her time talking through all the options with us on what we could try to break it, and a plan for moving forward. We spend at least a hour talking with her, at which time she gave us plenty of opportunities to ask questions, all of which she spent time answering completely. We never felt rushed or like my daughter was just another patient. She is a teenager and Dr. Alford talked not only to me, but to my daughter directly and let her ask her own questions and helped support her in making the choice that felt right for her and her body. I highly recommend Dr. Alford. That was only our first appointment, but after leaving her office, we both feel like we had support and someone who is taking what she is experiencing very seriously and not just waving it off as “just a headache”. Dr. Alford even helped explain the steps for homebound schooling and is supportive of a period of that method of learning if my daughter so chooses. I can’t recommend Dr. Alford enough!"
"Dr. Alford saw my 7 year old whose been having headaches for a while now. She really took her time with him, asked him questions that lent to him understanding how to answer, and was very kind and personable to him. She took her time with us and I greatly appreciated her insights into what's lending to his headaches."
"“Dr Alford is nice. She is very caring and wants to help my headaches get better. I like that she asked me questions and explained everything to me.” Addie, 7 years old Dr Alford and her staff were great. From speaking on the phone to welcoming us in the office, and explaining everything along the way, we felt very cared for. We appreciated the clear and abundant communication, and the ease of completing the needed paperwork for school. Most of all, Dr. Alford listened to and spoke directly to our daughter."
"Although, we've only had our initial visit with Dr. Alford I was pleased with care, detailed information, and respect we received from the Doctor. Try not to let the perceived attitude of the receptionist scare you away. While nothing was said out right or negatively, the body language and tone in which we received from reception desk was that of being bothered or annoyed. I would have preferred a more kind, coddled, compassionate mannerism at the receptionist area. It would have attributed to a more inviting welcome and conclusion of the appointment. We took the behavior and mannerisms as it being a rough morning for the individual, and kept our smiles and focus on the Doctor and her practice. The office building is easy enough to locate. Parking is free and simple to find. While it's an older building, the care to update and maintain the offices and make it relaxing to patients in need of care was well thought out. Those that are in need of the elevator may want to know it's a narrow opening, and will hold comfortably 2-3 adults. I was informed that this is something that is being addressed for those with special needs. Communication and working for the patient are both excelling expectations. Overall I'm happy with Firefly Pediatric's recommendations to use Dr.Alford to get the treatment our child needed for their daily headaches. If your looking for a specialist dedicated to the treating your child with respect, understanding, kindness and knowledgeable I highly suggest Dr.Alford."
