"I had a very poor experience with Dr. Chawla and the office staff. I had only 1 in person visit and 1 attempted virtual appointment. The staff called to check me in 2x (both by separate people) and seemed confused when i said i was already checked in. 5 minutes before my virtual appointment started, the dr’s nursing staff called me to say that the dr could not meet with me due to my request to discuss restarting my anti depressant as previously prescribed by my PCP, and that though my appointment request on my chart clearly stated that, they had been busy and forgot to call me to tell me that. I have requested a new PCP."

"The staff that check you IN/OUT are amazing and have the best customer service I've experienced in a MD office. The nurse was ok and nice enough. Dr. Chawla was very impersonal, dry, bland, had no personality, and the customer service was nonexistent. Didn't even say good afternoon or have a nice day. I will definitely be requesting a different provider. Update: 9/1/23 So I made a sick appointment for this morning lol because I have swollen tonsils and I get strep regularly and need to get tested. These morons proceed to tell me that my apt. Would have to be virtual, I ask how is he going to assess my tonsils for swelling and test me for strep virtually? This lady informs me I should go to urgent care and get tested for strep because they do not do that. WHAT GOOD ARE YOU THEN ?!? What kind of doctor does not test for strep in office. That is the most moronic thing I have ever heard of and serves the point that primary care physicians are absolutely pointless lol. This is why I haven't had a PCP ever because you all are an absolute waste of space."

"They are the worst! Refuse service if you are 5 mins late regardless of circumstances. Not helpful nor friendly at all!!!! Not a great choice. Those in the doctor’s office for Bowers are horrible, disrespectful asks does care about patients health! The office manager doesn’t answer phone calls when she’s aware of an issue. Avoided all of my calls!"

"I was a patient of Dr. Mckinnon's for many years. He's more THAN EARNED his retirement and I had a great Doctor. He's missed greatly. He and Dr. Stewart were the founders of this practice at least 30 years ago. Medicine has changed - one MD made a point of fussing ME out when I was having an asthma attack - and didn't call the day before - it wasn't bad until Saturday when I called. Monetary based medicine leaves much to be desired! Great office staff, great practice manager, Great Retired Dr. Mackinnon! Thank you!!"

"I am writing on behalf of my sister, Joanne Roper, who is a patient of Dr. MacKinnon and she wanted to provide feedback from her visits. She is 76 and has numerous medical issues. She has been his patient for many years and really appreciates his patience and willingness to see her on a moment's notice. He has followed her illnesses over the years and has always taken the time to check her thoroughly to provide an accurate diagnosis. Over the years, his sincere kindness to her has been noticed and thoroughly appreciated. He continues to provide her excellent care with the utmost importance. She wanted the Internists of Churchland group to be aware of the ability of this doctor and what an asset he is to this practice."
