Sound Inpatient Physicians

"During my recent hospital stay at INOVA Alexandria hospital, my chosen doctors were supplemented with two Sound Inpatient Physicians who were supposedly managing my case. They offered nothing of value beyond what my own doctors were doing and I had to update them myself daily about what my doctors were ordering for my care. They consistently were behind on new information from my actual care team. For example, one of these doctors informed me that he would be moving me to acute care one full day after the assigned hospital PT concluded that I was too high-functioning for acute care. The second doctor, upon my discharge, had to call back my pharmacy to cancel the prescriptions she had ordered because she was days behind on my actual medications. My insurance company informs me that I will be billed at least $1,500 for their useless presence, assuming they accept the insurance allowance. (The listed provider charge for this extraneous and unrequested nonsense is over $5,000!) Frankly, I feel scammed."
