"My friend went to the ER and was very sick and she was not seen in a room in the back for over two hours. The nurses and doctor were just sitting around talking. Very poor care no acknowledgement by nurses or doctor should go elsewhere . She was severely ill!"
"I had west end midwifery as my ob and used the hospital to deliver out of , my people were great but the hospital staff ( not all of the nurses ) definitely need better training . First off most of these nurses were either fresh out of school or not in the field for very long because many of them had trouble inserting your basic IV into my arm and I ended up with scaring and pain! I was in the hospital for almost a month due to my water breaking and having PPROM, one of the main nurses in the antepartum unit was fear mongering myself and my husband most of the time of my stay and if it weren’t for me being a seasoned mother I totally would Have had so much anxiety but I put what she was saying in one ear and out the other! ( there is a way in speaking to the mamas and her way was definitely NOT appropriate! ) I also don’t appreciate some of them speaking to us as if we are dumb / never had kids before, when some of these nurses are young enough to be our kids or younger siblings ! SMH ! It wasn’t a horrible experience but I will definitely ALSO recommend they make the unit warmer, more welcoming and uplifting for those strong nicu mamas going through it - also it would be amazing having the antepartum unit NEXT to the nicu ( there was an empty section of the hospital next to the nicu where they could have totally done that !!) instead of us sore and tired mamas having to be wheeled down there / taking the elevator etc it’s too much and even some of the nurses told us to make noise about this!! Also…. I gave birth to my first born in a smaller hospital up north in the tri state area where we had massage therapists , a fancy dinner for mom and dad to celebrate afterwards , and a photographer going around with the option for a newborn shoot…. My firstborn was also a preemie and I still had all those amenities! It might sound bougie but to be honest those add ons go so far especially for us antepartum of mamas dealing with little ones in the nicu sometimes the little things really help our minds while we’re in there and any mother for that matter just saying invest in your patients more !!!"
"My experience was very pleasant after my night nurse( Alexandria) in labor and delivery shift was over. The morning shift in labor and delivery are amazing and very sweet and the gentleman who did my epidural was always very skilled and nice. But my best care came after my baby was born and I was taken upstairs to recovery. All of my nurses were awesome!! The lactation specialists and the people who deliver your food are also great. They made my first experience a great one. I was given great care and so did my baby girl. would highly recommend but not the night shift downstairs in labor/delivery. they didn't seem like they wanted to do theirs jobs or even be there and showed no compassion while I was in extreme pain and would complain about other nurses work. Very unprofessional and uncaring."
"Dr. Burke was my OB and did a awesome job on my repeat C-section! I was all nerves but everyone on the team including her supported me the whole way through with words of encouragement and acts of service. She made sure I delivered a healthy baby boy and that I too was healthy ! - she went beyond my procedure to take care of some things to prevent further complications. I 100% stand by her and the anesthesiologist ANNE & her partner ( forgot his name )"
"I had a traumatic experience at this hospital. The nurse that came in when I arrived was extremely rude and left my room threatening me when I asked for a new nurse. I was in full labor by this point. Roaches were crawling across the floor. My husband and I had covid two weeks prior so they treated us like aliens. He wasn’t allowed to leave the room at all for the two days when we weren’t even sick anymore. Nurses would take hours to bring water to drink or respond to the call bell. They sent in the head of the department to apologize for the rude nurse but the damage was done. Thinking back on my experience brings feelings of frustration that no one is held accountable for what happened. Highly recommend choosing a different place. I never even saw the doctor that I went to for my whole pregnancy. Thankfully my son was healthy."
