"My experience with the care I have received here has been wonderful, but like many others the wait times are unacceptable. I have waited no less than 20-30 and up to over an hour past my appointment time to be taken back. I have been told this is because they do not know how long it will take with each patient but I’ve only ever seen the doctor or PA for 10 minutes or less. I have a strong sense they over schedule horribly. I am writing this review while sitting in the waiting room going on 20 minutes past my appointment with a near empty waiting room and still have yet to be called back. Expect to spend as long as 2 and a half hours here for your appointment. I have tried to be understanding but also there should be a level of punctuality that just is not present."
"Hopelessly long wait times. Waited an hour past my appointment time at 820 am. However, Emily Nilson was great! And so was the young lady who made thr splints."
"The online check-in is decent, as is scheduling an appointment online. I had scheduled an appointment via phone that I really needed to see a doctor for and it disappeared on the day of the appointment while I was attempting to check in that morning before the office opened. This occurred after waiting for 2 weeks for the appointment. No response received to my message re: what happened to the appointment. Fortunately, I was able to schedule another appointment for that day although it was later and not my preferred time. When I asked the front desk associate about the appointment, I was informed that I canceled the appointment when I did no such thing. :-( Another associate had informed me that that had been a known issue. That is not ok. The wait time at this location is better than at some other locations (Shrader Rd And St. Francis), but is still hit or miss. This practice still needs to figure out how to schedule patients without wasting our valuable time. When I asked if the doctor was on schedule after waiting for over 15 minutes, I was informed that the patient before me still had not been called back and I believe that appointment was only 10 minutes before my appointment. Patients should not be scheduled so close together. It seems like OrthoVA overbooks patients. If patients are only allowed a 15 min grace period, why would OrthoVA think that it is okay to have patients waiting over 20 - 45 minutes for a scheduled appointment? Although patients may not be surgeons that does not mean that our time is not just as valuable. The time spent with the physician is not long enough and after multiple visits to this location, I realize that I feel rushed during my visits. Even though I have gathered and organized my medical documentation and have taken the time to write a narrative of my health conditions to ensure that my visits are properly documented, I have to address errors in my visit notes because the doctors barely look at the documentation and/or do not bother to take the documentation to have when dictating notes of my visits. I know that it has to be difficult to listen and write notes at the same time, especially when I feel rushed and have to attempt to tell the doctor what is and has been going on and ask questions in a 10 minute visit. I have had to schedule another visit a few times to address concerns and questions from previous visits, which has become time consuming, expensive and frustrating. I was informed that patients are allowed to address 2 issues, but because my visit was rushed, the doctor dismissed one of my concerns telling me that it could be addressed later. What???That defeats the purpose of allowing patients to be seen for 2 issues, which I experienced intense pain the next day for that health concern. :-( I know that surgeons are busy, but again I always feel rushed or maybe the doctor just does not want to be bothered with addressing my questions about my health concerns. Really frustrating to keep paying co-pays and traveling so far to only spend 10 - 15 minutes with the doctor and having to readdress concerns with follow up visits. If a surgeon is too busy to properly address my questions about my heath, how rushed is that surgeon during surgery? There was a time when doctors would refer to a diagram or one of those skeleton models to explain what was going on or what may have contributed to or exacerbated a condition. Nowadays it seems like most doctors, especially surgeons, are only concerned with writing prescriptions for pain, injecting you with cortisone or doing surgery, which is not resolving the underlying issue. What happened to addressing what caused the condition? Not recommended if you do not like short or rushed office visits or are looking for answers to questions about health concerns."
"My care has been standard each time - X-rays taken and medications prescribed, but the reason for this review is the consistently lengthy wait times. Every time I come here I feel like I spend half my afternoon here. I am writing this review as I’ve been waiting in the waiting room for over 30 minutes now and still haven’t been called back. Once I’m called back, I have my X-rays taken quite promptly, and then generally have to wait another 30-45 minutes, on average to speak to the doctor for ten minutes. I’m not sure if they’re over scheduling patients or what’s going on, but I’ve showed up 10 minutes early for each of my three appointments to check in early as requested, and it’s frankly ridiculous and unacceptable for the practice and providers not to hold to their scheduling commitments as well time after time."
