"Got ghosted by my doctor Carol Smith. They were working remotely around 2021-2022 and calls would not go through. The portal service simply did not work. No way to get connected to my provider. The practice stopped replying to my emails."
"This practice saw me in September 2022 and gave me 3 months of my meds. When I was running out, I called to make an appointment so I could get a refill. They sent me my refill and did not call to schedule an appointment. There is no way to contact the scheduler directly, so I had to wait. When I started running out again, I called to make an appointment and get a refill. They refused to give me a refill, because they had not seen me since October, though they noted that this was not communicated to me in any way. Dr. Deguzman is purposefully taking me off my meds cold turkey because her office failed to schedule a requested appointment. Do not go here if your meds are important for your functioning."
"I’m not sure why this practice has low reviews. My experiences have been nothing short of fantastic. I have been seeing ruby for about two years now and it has always felt like I was talking to a friend. I can’t tell you how important that is when you’re being vulnerable with someone. Ruby has a multifactorial approach which I appreciate since many factors can be contributing to a condition. She has gone ABOVE AND BEYOND to help me, get my medications and has made time after hours to contact me. I cannot say enough good things about her. I would recommend her to everyone. Thank you for everything you do, Ruby!"
"As an ex-client, I feel it necessary to share an honest account of my experience with Neuroscientific Insights LLC. I became a client of this practice in 2020. I was meant to be a client of Dr. Jha, but I only saw her twice over the 1.5 years that they were my providers. After that, I exclusively had appointments with Ruby, a nurse practitioner. Not only did the copay fluctuate across visits, it ranged between $95-200. They also required appointments every 90 days if you wanted to have your scripts refilled. I am prescribed a Schedule II medication that I never had issues with getting until there was a shortage. Ruby advised me to call local pharmacies and ask outright if they could fill my script. Every pharmacist I spoke with looked at me with sheer confusion, as this is information that can’t legally be given to a patient. That is the job of a psychiatrist and I am extremely lucky that I didn’t get red flagged. Once I told Ruby I don’t have the credentials to receive such information, she let me know how much of an inconvenience it was for her to hold for 10 minutes when she tried to call one of the pharmacies. “I cannot keep doing this” was the last thing I ever heard from her. I changed practices as soon as I got that script filled. No follow up from Ruby to see I ever got my meds. I’d stayed with this practice for so long because I have great difficulty with choosing new health providers, but I regret having tolerated such actions. There were many behaviors and occurrences that I thought were standard among psychiatrists but now that I see a new psychiatrist, it has become immediately apparent that these practices were unique to NeuroScientific Insights. I will make it my mission going forward to share my experience with anyone who will listen. There are too many excellent professional options to settle for this lack of care."
"I did not have my appointment - this review is for what I experienced with the receptionist. I walked in and was met with a cold and distant woman at the front desk. If you are going to work at a psychiatry office, you will be encountering people with mental instability— you need to be warm, kind, and inviting. This receptionist is FAR from that. She spoke out of spite and had a bitterness to her words and expressions. It was a terrible greeting and put me in a bad mood during my good day. After filling out forms, I was told that my deductible had not been met so the cost was very high for my appointment, which is fine, but when I wold her I wanted to shop around in that case she became very defensive and rude. She sarcastically told me, “Good luck, all of the doctors charge this price.” I said that’s fine, but it’s my prerogative and my due diligence to shop around. It’s my decision. She was so rude and defensive and sarcastically told me to have a nice day, as if she was trying to kick me out, I said “thanks, you too, rude.” This is so unfortunate because even if the doctor (Carol Smith has great reviews) was good, I won’t be back because of this receptionist! Doctors: your receptionist is the first face we see. Not only are we patients, but we are CUSTOMERS. Neuroscientic Insights lost a potential client because of this terrible bitter receptionist. Also— turn your TV down, blasting HGTV in my ear is not warm and inviting."
