Kingsport City Schools Transportation

"Would give lower, but cannot. There is horrid communication coming from Transportation. Last spring, the Transportation Mgr, Mr Starnes, not only refused to contact me regarding an appeal until the end of a 2 week punishment (moot point then), but also lied to Sevier principal that he did contact me (he called Thursday, 2nd punishment for same offence (that never occurred on bus orginally) the night before the punishment was up. So, no appeals process allowed for the parent. Same driver, constantly "calling in" at the last minute with a tendency to occur near school out days- but "we are so short staffed that Mr. Starnes is running routes"... after 2 years, management is the problem. My kids got marked tardy today bc I had to take them due to bus 15 not running, again. yesterday's call came after they had been waiting for 15 minutes (6:15am...call came at 6:30am, with pick up at 6:24)....NO COMMUNICATION is happening in any of these KCS silos. How is this info not known in a timely manner? because the school system does not care!!!! All of this is a low priority for them. oh, can the lady recording the "we don't have busses running" greetings not ramble so much in the morning, and at least sound like she is out of bed and upright when recording the message?"

"Bus never showed up. Was told to call transportation when they would have another one out . Called over 40 times no answer."

"KCS transportation has some good people working there. They are short staffed and not everyone has patients enough to do what they do and it takes more than just a license."

"so several times my son has been accused of something that he didn’t do and come to find out the next day it was the high schoolers and I asked if they received the same treatment as my son did as he was took back to school and put off the bus but the only answer I got was we took care of it they’re also had said several times that I have called this bus terminal and left a message in my name and my number and the reason I was calling and did not get a call back I have called for a week straight every day five days in a row and still have not got an answer from them"

"Rough can't get an answer. And two me. They should've sent me a letter or called m . Like the one bus driver did when he had a problem out of my chil . He has been kicked off for over month he's allowed back on one bus but can't word about the other. And it was his second write up and suspensio . But ain't got word ye ."
