"Issues with communication. I requested two refills last week on the Ballad Health My Chart App. The App sent the requests to the NP, Melinda Wright, at my doctor's office who I do not typically see but had previously refilled my prescriptions when Dr. Deel had been out of office. Last week, Melinda Wright denied refill of these two prescriptions, based upon the grounds that I am not her patient even though she had previously filled them. I did not receive any notification of this denial of request either by phone or app. When I called to confirm that my prescriptions were ready for pickup at the pharmacy on Friday afternoon, I was informed that my refill request for two prescriptions had been denied. I requested that the pharmacist provide me enough medications to get through the weekend as the doctors were already out of office. The pharmacist refused because the refill had been denied. This morning, on Monday, when I reached out to the office to resolve this issue I am being told that Dr. Deel's nurse or Dr. Deel never received a request for this refill, explaining this request should have been forwarded to them by Melinda Wright. I explained that I have been sick all weekend as this medication is not supposed to be stopped suddenly. They offered an insincere apology about these errors in office communication. After speaking with Dr. Deel's nurse, I still do believe it has been communicated to Melinda Wright that her denial of my refills has made me sick all weekend. I also do not believe anyone has told her that she failed to communicate these refill requests to the appropriate in-office staff. I also don't believe it has been communicated to Dr. Deel that I was denied my long term prescriptions over the weekend due to errors in communication. I requested to speak directly to Dr. Deel, but they would only agree to setting up a telehealth appointment with him nearly a month away. These negligent decisions have brought undue suffering and illness upon me, took away my ability to enjoy time with my family this weekend, and resulted in me missing a day of work."
